The HJC Y50 Kids is a children's off-road motorcycle helmet with an Advanced Polycarbonate Compound shell, a goggle-friendly eye opening and double D-ring fastening. Moto Central's collection offers the Megadon design in MC2 Blue and MC5 Black.
The Y50 combines ECE 22.06 approval with BCS contour fitting, a removable interior and an ACS ventilation system. Its peaked off-road format is designed to work with goggles, so assess the helmet and eyewear together when choosing a young rider's setup.
The APC shell and goggle-friendly opening are paired with a peak developed using wind-tunnel testing and computational fluid dynamics.
Six intakes and two exhausts provide an airflow path through the helmet.
The Bespoke Contour System supports fit, with removable crown and cheek pads.
A double D-ring buckle secures the helmet and should be correctly adjusted whenever it is worn.
Use the Y50's own children's chart rather than an adult helmet chart. The current guide lists S at 48ā49 cm, M at 50ā51 cm, L at 52ā53 cm and XL at 54ā55 cm. Measure around the widest part of the head and assess fit with the strap fastened. Choose for the child's current head size rather than allowing extra room for growth.
Try the intended goggles with the helmet to check frame clearance, strap position and a comfortable seal around the eyes. The peak is designed around stability and reduced drag, but all fittings should be checked and used according to HJC's instructions.
OEKO TEX antibacterial fabric supports moisture wicking and quick drying. The crown and cheek pads can be removed for washing; let them dry naturally before refitting. The cheek pads are listed as interchangeable across sizes, but use the intended HJC components and confirm the correct combination before changing the fit.
Check helmet and goggles together: secure retention and a comfortable fit matter more than selecting a preferred graphic.
The current collection contains Megadon MC2 Blue and MC5 Black. Both offer the Y50's children's off-road format, letting you compare the graphics while keeping fit and goggle compatibility at the centre of the choice.
