Understanding the Forcefield collection
G-Tech shirts and jackets
The G-Tech shirt includes back, chest, shoulder and elbow protection, while the jacket is the slimmer option without the chest component. Both are available with different limb-armour levels. Forcefield uses a breathable fabric containing recycled yarn, and the armour is removable for garment care.
G-Tech trousers and tubes
G-Tech trousers provide close-fitting lower-body armour, while the separate tubes position a removable protector at an elbow or knee. Size and limb location matter: a sleeve must hold its insert over the intended joint throughout the rider's movement.
Air XV2 Pro garments
Air XV2 Pro shirts, trousers and shorts use a breathable mesh chassis with removable model-specific armour. Coverage differs between upper-body, full-length lower-body and short constructions, so compare the protected zones as well as the headline Level 2 designation.
Freelite back protection
The Freelite is a separately worn Level 2 back protector rather than an insert for a jacket pocket. Its adjustable waist and shoulder retention should keep the protector centred over the back without riding up or interfering with the helmet.
Tech base layers
Tech 2 and Tech 3 shirts, trousers, neck wear and balaclavas manage next-to-skin comfort and moisture. They do not contain impact armour unless the individual product explicitly states otherwise, and they do not replace an abrasion-resistant motorcycle outer layer.
Tornado thermal layers
Tornado Advance 2 uses windproof Defender fabric with thermal Thermolite material in the supplier specification. These shirts, trousers, inner gloves and head or neck pieces are weather-management layers, not protective outer clothing or impact protectors.
Fit and protection checks
Armour only covers the intended area when it stays in position. Use Forcefield's size information for the exact garment, check the placement while standing and in a riding posture, then move through your normal range of motion. A shirt or trouser should be close enough to retain its armour without creating pressure, numbness or restricted control movement.
Check each certification reference by body area. EN 1621-1 relates to limb protectors, EN 1621-2 to back protectors and EN 1621-3 to chest protection. Level 2 has a lower permitted transmitted-force threshold than Level 1 within the relevant standard, but coverage, fit, ventilation and compatibility still need to suit the rider and outer clothing.
Remove armour before washing only where the product instructions permit it, keep track of its orientation and refit every piece into the correct pocket. Inspect protectors and garments after a significant impact or visible damage, and follow Forcefield's replacement advice rather than relying on appearance alone.
