OptiMate battery care covers charging, maintenance, testing and connection accessories for motorcycles. The right choice depends on the job: maintaining a bike through storage, charging a compatible battery or checking its condition. A tester and a charger serve different purposes, even when they connect through similar leads.

Choose for the battery, then the motorcycle
Read the battery label and identify voltage, chemistry and capacity before selecting equipment. Lead-acid types such as AGM and gel should not be confused with lithium iron phosphate batteries. Compare the exact OptiMate model and programme with the battery manufacturer's requirements.
OptiMate 4 Quad Program is an example with separate options for 12V lead-acid and 12.8V LiFePO4 batteries. It also provides programmes for direct connection and compatible BMW CAN-bus-controlled sockets. Those capabilities belong to that version, not automatically to every charger carrying the OptiMate 4 name.
Testing and charging are different
OptiMate offers testers for different checks, including state of charge and, on appropriate models, cranking or charging-system performance. Decide what you need to measure and check supported battery types. A voltage indication is not a complete diagnosis of every battery problem.
Check the connection route
Battery clips, a permanent battery lead and a motorcycle socket are different ways to connect suitable equipment. Check the required adaptor and the bike's socket behaviour. A connector that physically fits does not establish that the charger programme or battery chemistry is correct.
Prepare for periods between rides
Consider how easily you can connect equipment and see its status. Follow the charger and battery instructions for maintenance use, installation and fault indications. A recovery feature is not a promise that every damaged or worn-out battery can be restored.

Bring the battery details
A photograph of the battery label and your motorcycle model helps the Moto Central team discuss suitable charging or testing equipment. Include the connection method you want to use, particularly if you plan to charge through a socket.
