The HJC RPHA 1 is a race-focused full-face motorcycle helmet developed with input from HJC riders in MotoGP and WorldSBK. This collection brings together the original RPHA 1 helmet, selected replica and solid finishes, HJ-35 replacement visors and model-specific DKS417 Pinlock inserts.
It suits riders who want a close, secure sports fit, a double D-ring fastening system and aerodynamic equipment built around high-speed riding. It is also ECE 22.06 approved for road use and carries the original FIM FRHPhe-01 racing homologation.
HJC built the RPHA 1 around track use rather than everyday touring convenience. Its PIM shell uses reinforcement materials including carbon and carbon-glass hybrid fabric, while the external shape was developed through HJC's wind-tunnel programme. The Advanced Channeling Ventilation System manages airflow through the shell and the rear spoiler is intended to support stability in a sports riding position.
Inside, the removable Silvercool comfort lining is designed to manage moisture and dry quickly. Glasses grooves help riders who wear spectacles, and emergency-release cheek pads allow trained responders to remove the pads more easily after an incident. The helmet uses a double D-ring retention system and a tool-free RapidFire visor mechanism.
A racing helmet should feel firm and evenly supported without creating a concentrated pressure point. Measure around the widest part of your head, use the size information on the individual product page as a starting point and keep the helmet on for several minutes before judging it.
Our motorcycle helmet sizing guide explains the measuring process, while our helmet head-shape video shows why two helmets marked with the same size can feel different. Riders visiting the Moto Central showroom can also compare sizes and discuss pressure points with the team.
The collection includes clear, light-smoke, dark-smoke and iridium HJ-35 visors. Select by the HJ-35 code rather than appearance alone. Current HJ-35 listings state compatibility with both the original RPHA 1 and the RPHA 1 V2 Carbon.
A clear visor is the practical all-round choice. Tinted and mirrored versions are intended for suitable daylight conditions, so keep a legal clear option available when riding after dark or in poor light.
The model-specific anti-fog insert for the HJ-35 visor is DKS417. The current range includes clear Pinlock 120 XLT MaxVision plus selected yellow and dark-smoke Pinlock 120 options. The insert sits inside the prepared visor and must seal evenly around its silicone edge.
Pinlock colour and visor tint are separate decisions. Check both parts before ordering and never use a tinted combination where light transmission would be unsuitable.
For road use, prioritise correct fit, visibility and a visor setup appropriate to changing weather. For a track day or competition, check the organiser's current helmet-standard rules, scrutineering requirements and accepted homologation label before travelling. Approval requirements can differ between events and may change over time.
Before every ride, check that the visor locks correctly, the chin strap is undamaged and the vents move as intended. Replace a visor that is deeply scratched, cracked or no longer seals properly. Wash removable comfort padding according to the helmet instructions and avoid solvents, fuel or adhesive cleaners on the shell and visor.
Moto Central brings the helmet and its model-specific vision parts together on one collection page, making it easier to distinguish a complete RPHA 1 from an HJ-35 visor or DKS417 insert. Our team can help with sizing in the showroom and with identifying the correct visor family when you already own the helmet.
You can compare the wider HJC helmet range, browse other motorcycle helmets, or find further components in helmet spares and accessories.
No. The collection also contains HJ-35 replacement outer visors and DKS417 Pinlock inserts. Check the product title and image before selecting a size or adding an item to your basket.
Choose an HJC HJ-35 outer visor. The DKS417 is the matching model-specific Pinlock insert for a Pinlock-prepared HJ-35 visor.
No. They are separate generations with different shell construction and FIM homologation phases. Some HJ-35 vision accessories are shared, but helmet specifications should be checked on the relevant product page.
The original RPHA 1 is ECE 22.06 approved. Always check the approval label on the individual helmet and confirm any additional rules imposed by a circuit, race organiser or governing body.
