The HJC i90 is a modular road helmet designed around touring convenience, a broad outer visor and an internal sun shield. Its opening chin section is useful when stopped, but fit, closure operation and the exact helmet instructions deserve as much attention as the convenience of the mechanism.
Try the chin section and its release with your riding gloves. Close it carefully and confirm the latch engages as instructed by HJC. Follow the permitted riding configuration stated for your own helmet rather than assuming that every modular model can be used with its chin section raised.
The outer visor reference is HJ-33; the internal sun shield is HJ-V9. HJC also lists HJ-33 for the i91, but a shared outer shield does not establish that their liners, mechanisms or other fittings interchange. Keep the original part reference when ordering. Gallery images show replacement shields and an inner anti-fog lens separately.
HJC specifies a polycarbonate shell and removable Supercool interior, with space intended to accommodate glasses. Check that your frames remain comfortable when both chin section and visor are closed. A helmet that feels acceptable for a moment can reveal a pressure point during a longer fitting.
The i90 documentation identifies SMART HJC 10B and 20B communication systems, sold separately. Check the mounting arrangement and speaker placement before choosing equipment. Do not force wiring under the lining or assume a newer SMART HJC generation uses the same fitting kit.
Visit our showroom with your riding glasses and gloves. We can help assess the HJC i90 fit or check the details of a replacement component before you choose.
