The HJC C71 is an ECE 22.06 full-face motorcycle helmet for commuting, sport-touring and general road riding. It combines an advanced polycarbonate composite shell with an HJ-34P Pinlock-ready visor, an HJ-V12 internal sun shield, removable lining and straightforward micro-buckle fastening.
Moto Central's C71 range includes the restrained Semi Flat Black finish alongside Faber and Morix graphics. The core construction remains the same, while finish, artwork and the sizes currently offered vary between product pages.
The C71 meets the current ECE 22.06 approval requirements for on-road motorcycle helmets.
The clear shield is anti-scratch coated, provides 99% UV protection and is prepared for a model-specific Pinlock insert.
A dark smoke internal shield can be lowered for bright conditions without replacing the clear outer visor.
The moisture-wicking, quick-drying crown and cheek pads are removable and washable, with interchangeable cheek pads across sizes.
The advanced polycarbonate composite shell is shaped using CAD development for fit and comfort. HJC's ACS ventilation uses front intake points and a rear exhaust path to move heat and humidity through the helmet while riding.
The visor ratchet is designed for simple shield changes, and the interior provides speaker space for a compatible Bluetooth system. The micro-buckle retention system makes daily fastening convenient, provided it is adjusted snugly and locked correctly every time.
HJC lists the C71 from XS to 2XL, but stock and size coverage can vary between a solid finish and a particular graphic. Measure around the widest part of the head, just above the eyebrows and ears, then compare that result with the manufacturer's current chart and our motorcycle helmet sizing guide.
A new C71 should feel evenly firm around the crown and cheeks. It should move the skin when gently rotated, rather than sliding independently around the head. Localised pain, a pronounced gap or easy movement can indicate that the size or internal shape is wrong.
Fasten the micro-buckle and try to roll the helmet forwards from the rear. It should remain securely located. Recheck fit after the lining has settled through use, and replace worn pads only with parts made for the correct model and size.
The C71 uses the HJ-34P external visor, also used by the HJC C10. HJC describes it as anti-scratch coated, Pinlock-ready and offering 99% UV protection. A clear outer shield remains the practical choice when journeys cross from daylight into darkness.
The HJ-V12 dark smoke sun shield sits inside the helmet and can be deployed when bright light becomes uncomfortable. It does not replace the need to use a suitable outer visor, and it should be kept clean and operated only when visibility remains adequate.
Pinlock-ready means the HJ-34P has the preparation for an insert. It does not automatically mean the insert is supplied in the helmet box. Check the exact product's listed contents and order the compatible insert separately when needed. Moto Central's helmet spares and accessories section can help with HJ-34P visors, inserts and mechanism parts.
If choosing a dark smoke or iridium replacement outer visor, check the product markings, current road-use requirements and expected light conditions. Carry the clear visor if a ride may continue after dusk.
The ACS system draws air through the front vents and directs warm, humid air towards the exhaust. Ventilation performance depends on speed, screen height, head position and whether the vent openings are clear, so use the controls rather than leaving them permanently closed.
In cold or wet conditions, opening the chin vent and fitting the correct Pinlock insert can help manage internal condensation. A Pinlock insert cannot clear water or fog on the outside of the visor, and ventilation still matters.
The removable crown and cheek pads make routine cleaning easier. Use mild helmet-safe products, avoid saturating fixed protective materials and let removable components dry naturally. Do not use direct heat, solvents or aggressive cleaners on the shell, visor or lining.
HJC describes the C71 as universally Bluetooth compatible, with interior provision for speakers. This means there is space for a communication setup, not that every intercom base, clamp and microphone will fit identically.
Position speakers so that they align with the ears without creating pressure. Keep cables behind the comfort lining and away from the chin strap, visor mechanism and EPS. A communication device should never require cutting, drilling or compressing the protective structure.
Both helmets use an advanced polycarbonate shell, ECE 22.06 approval and the HJ-34P outer visor. The C71 adds an HJ-V12 internal sun shield and is offered in adult XS to 2XL sizing. The C10 has no internal sun visor and extends into smaller youth sizes on selected versions.
Choose between them by fit, required size and whether a drop-down sun shield is useful for your journeys. Do not assume that a shared visor means the helmets have the same internal shape or feel.
Moto Central groups the current solid and graphic C71 options together, allowing riders to compare size availability without losing sight of the shared specification. Our team can help assess helmet stability, explain the separate outer visor and sun-shield systems, and identify compatible HJ-34P replacements.

Yes. HJC states that the C71 meets or exceeds ECE 22.06 requirements.
Yes. It uses the HJ-V12 dark smoke internal sun shield behind the clear outer visor.
The C71 uses the HJ-34P outer visor, shared with the C10.
HJC specifies a Pinlock-ready visor. Check the exact Moto Central product page for box contents because “ready” does not guarantee that an insert is supplied.
HJC lists the C71 from XS to 2XL. Available sizes can differ by graphic and current stock.
