LS2 OF606 Drifter helmets pair a removable face covering with a peaked open-face design. Their distinctive outline can appeal to urban, cruiser and trials-style riders, but the removable front section should not be mistaken for proof of full-face protective coverage.
LS2 places the Drifter in its open-face range and specifies KPA construction with ECE 22.06 approval. Judge it as an open-face option and read the helmet label and instructions for its permitted configuration. If a protective fixed chin bar is a priority, compare a full-face helmet instead of choosing by appearance.
The peak is adjustable and removable, while the eye shield can be changed between clear and tinted options. Make adjustments while stationary and check the attachment points before use. Select the shield for the conditions, observing any tint restrictions. Keep removed parts and their fittings together so they can be refitted correctly.
Try the Drifter with your usual glasses, gloves and neckwear. Check that the eye shield clears your spectacles and that the front covering does not press uncomfortably. LS2 specifies a micrometric buckle; adjust the strap before checking comfort. Replacement shields, peaks and fittings should be matched to the OF606 and the actual part reference, not merely to a similar-looking helmet.
Bring your usual riding equipment to compare helmet fit. For replacement parts, bring the helmet or its exact model, generation and size details.
