LS2 OF601 Bob 2 helmets combine a compact open-face appearance with a sun visor and peak. The style suits riders who prefer an exposed-face format, but the choice should begin with fit and coverage rather than the retro outline alone.
LS2 specifies HPFC construction and ECE 22.06 approval for the standard Bob II. Carbon versions are separate specifications, and earlier Bob helmets also require their own identification. Do not infer shell material or compatible padding from a similar finish or from the OF601 prefix alone.
The Bob II includes a sun visor and peak, and LS2 lists a goggle fastener. Try the intended eyewear with the helmet and check how it sits around your nose and temples. A peak or visor does not add the fixed chin coverage of a full-face helmet. Consider wind, rain and your normal journey conditions when comparing formats.
The double-D retention system uses a magnetic pull-tab arrangement. Learn the correct strap threading; a magnetic tidying feature is not a substitute for properly fastening the strap. The removable, washable interior supports routine cleaning. For replacement liners, check the Bob II generation, shell version and size before ordering, especially where older Bob parts are listed alongside newer ones.
Bring your usual riding equipment to compare helmet fit. For replacement parts, bring the helmet or its exact model, generation and size details.
