LS2 MX701 Explorer helmets combine an adventure-style peak with a road visor and internal sun shield. They suit riders comparing a peaked touring layout with a conventional road helmet, while retaining model-specific options for maintenance and replacement shields.
The MX701 family includes HPFC and Carbon constructions. The pictured complete helmets are Carbon examples, not evidence that every Explorer has a carbon shell. Check the exact version and approval label. Later Explorer Evo models use a different designation, so the Explorer name alone is insufficient when choosing components.
LS2 describes an adjustable, removable peak and a wide outer visor prepared for Pinlock Max Vision. Check the manual before changing the configuration, retaining the correct screws and covers. Think about the balance between shade from a peak and its feel in your usual riding position; a showroom fitting cannot reproduce every motorcycle windscreen or airflow pattern.
The internal sun visor gives another way to manage bright conditions. Check its clearance with spectacles and practise the controls with gloves. Match any replacement outer visor to the MX701 and observe tint restrictions. Bring your normal neckwear when trying the helmet, and confirm which anti-fog insert, liners or communication fittings belong to your particular version.
Bring your usual riding equipment to compare helmet fit. For replacement parts, bring the helmet or its exact model, generation and size details.
