The LS2 FF800 Storm II combines a full-face touring layout with a drop-down sun visor for changing daylight. It is a model to compare for both regular commuting and longer road journeys, with fit, ventilation controls and visor operation all worth checking in person. Storm II and the original Storm share the FF800 family code, so the generation remains essential when choosing either a helmet or a replacement part.
LS2's Storm II specification uses a KPA shell and ECE 22.06 approval. The original Storm is separately documented under ECE 22.05. This distinction matters even where a visor or vent listing names both helmets. Read the actual helmet label and product specification; neither a shared FF800 code nor a similar graphic establishes the approval.
Check the helmet in your normal riding posture, with your glasses if applicable. Operate the chin and top ventilation controls and practise raising the sun visor without disturbing the fit. LS2 lists removable, washable comfort materials, but follow the supplied care instructions before removing them. Intercom readiness should also be checked against the exact communication kit, rather than treated as an included system.
The outer visor and internal sun visor serve different purposes. Keep the outer screen clear and undamaged, and raise the internal shade as conditions darken. For anti-fog treatment, match the fitted visor to the correct Pinlock insert and check what the individual package includes. A visor prepared for an insert is not proof that one is supplied.
Some vent and chin-curtain listings explicitly include Storm and Storm II. Interior kits can be more specific: a liner labelled for an ECE 22.05 Storm should not be assumed suitable for Storm II. Check model generation, size, reference and colour before ordering. The illustrated rear vent, outer visor and chin curtain show three different service components, not an interchangeable kit.
Try the Storm II at Moto Central with the glasses and riding equipment you normally use. For repairs, bring the helmet label and part reference so shared accessories can be distinguished from generation-specific interiors.
