The Arai Horizon-X is an entirely new full-face road helmet created for riders who want Arai protection, everyday comfort and powerful ventilation in one refined package. Developed for sportive road riding, touring and daily journeys, it brings RX-7V EVO-inspired shell thinking together with fresh technology designed specifically for the road.
The complete Arai Horizon-X range is now listed at Moto Central and available to pre-order for release in March 2027. The launch collection includes 14 solid colours and graphics, with prices beginning at £649.99.
A New Arai Helmet Built for the Road
The Horizon-X is not a replacement graphic or a small update to an existing shell. It is a new addition to Arai’s full-face range, developed around the demands of everyday road riding. That gives it a broad purpose. It is intended to feel at home on a weekend sports ride, a long touring day, a motorway journey or a regular commute.
Arai has kept the fundamentals unmistakably familiar. The smooth, rounded outer profile reflects the company’s Egg Shape philosophy and its focus on helping the helmet glance away from obstacles. The idea is to avoid unnecessary protrusions and sharp changes in shape that could catch during an impact.
The result is a helmet with a clean silhouette and serious technical intent. It looks less extreme than a dedicated racing lid, but it carries lessons from Arai’s flagship development into a platform made for real roads.
Road-Focused Design
Developed for sportive riding, touring and day-to-day use rather than one narrow riding environment.
ECE R22-06
Built to meet the current European motorcycle helmet approval standard and Arai’s own internal criteria.
March 2027 Release
The UK range is listed for pre-order now, with release currently expected in March 2027.
PB-SNC2 Handcrafted Shell
The Horizon-X uses Arai’s PB-SNC2 shell construction, short for Peripherally Belted Structural Net Composite. Every shell is handcrafted from more than 20 carefully chosen materials. Arai combines different fibres and reinforcement methods to create the strength, consistency and smooth outer form required for the finished helmet.
The helmet’s basic shell concept is inherited from the RX-7V EVO. Its rounded form is central to Arai’s Glancing Off approach, which aims to help the helmet continue moving past an obstacle rather than allowing an edge or external feature to catch.
A distinctive longitudinal ridge is worked into the Horizon-X shell. It contributes to shell strength and is intended to help control the spread of cracks if the shell is subjected to an impact. Importantly, this structural detail has been incorporated without abandoning the smooth profile that defines the model.
Completely Redesigned Ventilation
Ventilation is one of the Horizon-X’s most important developments. Arai used airflow analysis to redesign the intake and exhaust arrangement, with the aim of moving more fresh air through the helmet and clearing warm, humid air more effectively.
The system combines a three-position chin vent with intake and exhaust ducting around the shell. Internal channels guide air through the helmet, while side exhausts support extraction. This matters during slower daily riding as well as on warmer touring days, when heat and humidity can build quickly inside a full-face helmet.
Controls are designed to be used with gloved hands. That sounds like a small detail, but straightforward vent operation makes a genuine difference when weather, speed and temperature change during a journey.
Cooling for Everyday Journeys
The Horizon-X ventilation system was designed as a complete airflow package rather than a collection of separate vents. Improved intake, internal circulation and exhaust work together to support comfort across changing road conditions.
VAS-V Max Vision Visor
The Horizon-X uses Arai’s VAS-V Variable Axis System. The visor pivot is positioned to help preserve a smoother shell surface around the temple area while still providing a wide view of the road. The helmet is supplied with a VAS-V Max Vision visor and a Pinlock insert lens.
Pinlock protection is especially valuable for UK riding, where cold starts, rain and stop-start traffic can quickly create visor misting. The Max Vision format covers a broad section of the rider’s view, helping to keep the useful field of vision clear.
The wider Arai visor family also provides scope for alternative visor and Pro Shade options. Riders should always check current road-use requirements before choosing a heavily tinted or mirrored visor.
New Antimicrobial Interior
Inside, Arai has introduced a new liner material intended to preserve the soft, close comfort associated with the brand while improving day-to-day care. The fabric has antimicrobial, odour-resistant and dirt-resistant properties, which should be particularly useful for riders who use the helmet frequently or cover long distances.
The centre pad, cheek pads, ear cups and chinstrap covers are removable and replaceable. That makes regular cleaning easier and allows worn components to be refreshed without replacing the complete helmet.
Arai’s Facial Contour System supports a secure wrap around the cheeks, while 5 mm peel-away sections in the cheek, ear and temple areas allow careful fine-tuning. A helmet must still suit the rider’s head shape, but these adjustments can help create a more personal final fit once the correct base size has been selected.
Prepared for Motorcycle Intercoms
The Horizon-X includes speaker pockets and dedicated space for communication-system installation. The removable interior makes cable routing and speaker placement easier, helping riders add navigation prompts, music or rider-to-rider communication without forcing hardware into unsuitable areas.
Speaker position should be checked carefully during fitting. A speaker that sits too high, too low or directly against the ear can create pressure during longer rides. The system should also be installed without cutting or altering the impact-absorbing liner.
Double-D Fastening and Emergency Release
A traditional Double-D ring secures the Horizon-X. It provides accurate adjustment each time the helmet is worn and remains widely used on premium road and racing helmets. The strap should sit securely beneath the jaw with no excessive slack.
The cheek-pad area also incorporates Arai’s Emergency Release System. This is designed to help trained responders remove the cheek pads more carefully following an accident. It is an emergency feature and should not be used for normal interior removal or cleaning.
Arai Horizon-X Colours and Graphics
The UK pre-order line-up covers understated solids, metallic finishes and more expressive graphics. Diamond Black, Diamond Blue and Diamond White give the smooth shell a polished finish, while Frost Black, Frost Gun Metallic, Matt Blue and Modern Grey offer quieter contemporary choices.
Riders looking for a graphic can choose from Dynamic Red, Edge, Katakana Black, Katakana Multi, Oriental Vista, Pilot Black and Pilot Grey. Every image and name below links directly to its individual Moto Central product page.

Who Is the Arai Horizon-X For?
The Horizon-X is aimed at the rider who wants one premium helmet to cover varied road use. It should suit sports-bike and naked-bike riders who want stable, clean aerodynamics, while its ventilation, washable interior and intercom preparation make it equally relevant to commuters and touring riders.
It is not presented as an uncompromising race helmet. Its appeal lies in combining Arai’s protection philosophy with the comfort and usability needed away from the circuit. Riders who like the principles behind the RX-7V EVO but want a helmet developed around everyday roads may find the Horizon-X particularly interesting.
Fit Before You Choose a Colour
Head circumference is a useful starting point, but it cannot confirm whether a helmet suits an individual head shape. A correctly fitted Horizon-X should feel evenly firm around the crown and cheeks without creating isolated, painful pressure points. It should not rotate freely or lift away from the head when the chin bar is moved.
Interior components will settle slightly with use, so a brand-new helmet should not begin loose. If possible, take time to compare sizes and assess the fit properly before committing to a particular graphic.
Pre-Order and March 2027 Availability

Moto Central Verdict
The Horizon-X feels like a properly considered addition to Arai’s range. It does not chase novelty for its own sake. Instead, it takes the brand’s smooth shell philosophy and handcrafted construction, then adds the things road riders notice on every journey: improved airflow, a practical Max Vision visor, an easier-care interior, fit adjustment and intercom preparation.
With 14 launch options ranging from subtle Frost Black to bold Katakana and Pilot graphics, it also gives riders plenty of choice without changing the underlying helmet. For anyone looking at a premium Arai for sports riding, touring or regular road use in 2027, the Horizon-X deserves a place near the top of the shortlist.
