The AGV Pista GP RR S takes the unmistakable shape and racing character of AGV’s flagship helmet family and reinterprets it for a wider range of sport and track riders. It remains a serious carbon-fibre performance helmet, but the new model has been developed to combine MotoGP-inspired aerodynamics, wide vision and high-speed stability with a more adaptable fit.
The complete Moto Central launch range is now available to pre-order for March 2027. Nine helmets are currently listed, covering solid carbon finishes, new Intrepido and Onore graphics, the vivid Battito Iridium and two unmistakable rider-inspired designs.
What Is the AGV Pista GP RR S?
The Pista GP RR S is a premium full-face helmet aimed at riders who want AGV’s racing identity without treating every outing like a Grand Prix start. It retains the technical spirit of the Pista GP RR, including a full carbon shell, track-focused ventilation, a substantial Race 3 visor and aggressive aerodynamic development.
The difference lies in how those elements are brought together. AGV describes the new helmet as born for the track but designed for more versatile use. It is still firmly positioned at the performance end of the range, yet its adaptive interior and broader road-and-track focus make it relevant to more than professional racers.
That does not turn it into a quiet touring helmet or an all-purpose commuter lid. The Pista GP RR S remains a compact, committed helmet for sports motorcycles, fast road riding and circuit use, with every major component shaped around precision and stability.
100% Carbon Shell
Four outer shell sizes keep the helmet compact while balancing strength and weight across the size range.
Race 3 Visor
A 5 mm optical class 1 visor provides a broad, distortion-free view and serious eye-area coverage.
March 2027
The Moto Central range is listed for pre-order now, with release currently expected in March 2027.
100% Carbon-Fibre Shell
The Pista GP RR S uses a 100% carbon-fibre outer shell. Carbon construction gives AGV the strength and stiffness required for a serious racing helmet while allowing the external dimensions to remain controlled. The range uses four shell sizes, which helps avoid placing smaller heads inside an unnecessarily large outer shell.
Inside the carbon shell is a five-density EPS impact-absorbing liner developed across four sizes. Different densities allow particular areas of the liner to respond appropriately under impact rather than relying on a single uniform structure throughout the helmet.
AGV also uses a collarbone-safe lower profile. This is shaped to reduce unwanted interaction between the helmet edge and one of the body’s more exposed areas during an accident. The shell and EPS package is designed to help limit rotational acceleration as well as manage direct impact energy.
ECE 22.06 and DOT Approval
The Pista GP RR S carries ECE 22.06 and DOT approval. ECE 22.06 is the current European motorcycle helmet standard and uses a broader set of impact points and test conditions than the previous ECE 22.05 regulation.
Approval is only one part of the helmet’s construction story. The carbon shell, multi-density EPS, collarbone-safe profile and emergency-release cheek pads work together as a complete protection system. As with any helmet, the correct fit remains essential because a premium specification cannot compensate for a helmet that is too loose or unsuitable for the rider’s head shape.
New EVO Spoiler and High-Speed Stability
Aerodynamic development is central to the Pista family, and the RR S introduces a detachable EVO rear spoiler. Its purpose is to organise the air leaving the back of the helmet, reduce unwanted turbulence and help the shell remain stable as speed rises.
The helmet is shaped to work with a racing suit and aerodynamic back hump. This is particularly important in a tucked riding position, where the relationship between helmet, shoulders and suit can influence buffeting and how easily the rider can hold a consistent head position.
The visor mechanism is made from metal and kept compact. Reducing bulk around the front and sides of the shell supports a narrower profile, while the carefully controlled external shape helps the helmet cut through the air more cleanly.
Race 3 Visor and Ultravision
The Pista GP RR S uses AGV’s Race 3 visor. At 5 mm thick, it is considerably more substantial than the visor fitted to many ordinary road helmets. It is designed to offer strong eye-area protection while preserving a clear and accurate view.
Optical class 1 certification means the visor is designed to provide distortion-free vision. AGV’s Ultravision geometry delivers a claimed 190-degree horizontal field of view and 85-degree vertical field of view. The horizontal view supports peripheral awareness, while the generous vertical opening is particularly valuable when the rider is tucked behind a screen and looking upwards towards the next corner.
A patented visor-locking system keeps the visor secure, while the Extra Quick Release mechanism supports straightforward removal. A controlled micro-opening position lets the rider introduce extra airflow without fully raising the visor.
Pinlock 120XLT MaxVision Included
The supplied anti-fog insert covers a broad area of the visor and helps maintain useful vision during damp, cold or rapidly changing conditions. A tear-off kit is also included for circuit use.
Five Front Vents and Two Rear Extractors
Track riding generates heat quickly, so the Pista GP RR S uses a direct and purposeful ventilation layout. There are five front vents, with three across the upper area and two at the chin, supported by two rear extractors.
Fresh air enters through the front and moves through internal channels before warm air is drawn towards the exhaust points. Metal vent components add durability and contribute to the helmet’s precise, premium construction.
Vent covers are included among the supplied accessories. These allow the rider to adapt the configuration for changing weather or circuit conditions.
360° Adaptive Fit
The internal fit is one of the most important areas of development. AGV’s patented 360° Adaptive Fit allows the crown-pad arrangement to be adjusted, while the supplied interior customisation kit includes alternative top, rear and cheek-pad components.
This gives the rider more control over how the helmet supports the crown, rear of the head and face. The system is intended for fine-tuning once the correct base shell and size have been selected, rather than making an unsuitable helmet fit.
Shalimar fabric on the cheek pads provides a soft but stable hold at speed. The crown uses elastic and breathable microfibre, while 2Dry material supports rapid moisture absorption. Microsense fabric improves skin comfort, and the neck roll combines breathable, elastic and water-resistant sections.
The interior avoids stitching in sensitive areas and is fully removable and washable. Emergency-release cheek pads help trained responders remove the helmet more carefully following an accident.
Titanium Double-D Fastening
A titanium Double-D ring secures the helmet. The Double-D design remains the standard choice for serious racing use because it is simple, secure and adjusted accurately each time the helmet is worn. Titanium helps reduce weight while maintaining the premium feel expected at this level.
The strap should sit firmly beneath the jaw without enough slack for the helmet to roll forward. Riders using a leather suit should also check that the neck roll, strap and suit collar work together comfortably in both upright and tucked positions.
AGV Pista GP RR S Colours and Graphics
The Moto Central launch range begins with Solid Gloss Carbon and Solid Matt Carbon at £799. These are the purest expressions of the shell, leaving the carbon weave and aerodynamic shape to provide the visual impact.
Intrepido and Onore bring stronger graphic treatments at £899, joined by Battito Iridium. Soleluna 2021 and Bezzecchi 2025 sit at the top of the range at £1,100, combining the Pista GP RR S platform with distinctive rider-linked artwork.

How Does the RR S Differ from an Everyday Road Helmet?
The Pista GP RR S is designed around priorities that become most noticeable on sports motorcycles and circuits. Its wide vertical view supports a racing tuck, the thick visor and secure locking system are intended for high-speed use, and the ventilation system values direct airflow over the subtle controls expected from a touring helmet.
The pronounced spoiler, close interior and Double-D fastening all reinforce that focus. Riders looking primarily for an internal sun visor, integrated intercom system, relaxed commuting fit or maximum motorway quietness will normally be better served by another model. The Pista GP RR S is for the rider who actively wants its uncompromising racing character.
Who Should Choose the AGV Pista GP RR S?
This helmet should appeal to track-day riders, sports-bike owners and enthusiasts who want AGV’s flagship racing identity in a model developed for more versatile use. Its carbon construction, broad field of view and aerodynamic stability are particularly relevant when the rider spends time in a forward, tucked position.
It may also suit collectors and AGV fans drawn to the Soleluna or Bezzecchi graphics. However, fit should come before colour. A premium replica helmet is only worthwhile if the internal shape, crown support and cheek pressure suit the rider correctly.
Fit and Sizing Advice
A new Pista GP RR S should feel evenly close around the entire head, with firm cheek contact and no isolated pressure point that becomes painful over time. The helmet should not rotate freely when the chin bar is moved, and the skin around the forehead should move with the liner.
The included Adaptive Fit components provide useful fine adjustment, but they should not be used to rescue the wrong size. Interior materials will settle slightly after use, so the helmet should not start loose.
Pre-Order and March 2027 Release
All nine AGV Pista GP RR S helmets shown here are currently listed for pre-order at Moto Central, with release expected in March 2027. Current pricing begins at £799 for the solid carbon finishes, rises to £899 for the main graphic range and reaches £1,100 for the Soleluna and Bezzecchi designs.
Release dates and availability can change as production and UK deliveries are finalised. Check the individual product page for the latest size availability, price and expected delivery information.
Moto Central Verdict
The AGV Pista GP RR S is not trying to become a conventional all-rounder. Its appeal is that it keeps the carbon construction, panoramic Race 3 visor, direct ventilation and dramatic aerodynamic shape that make a Pista instantly recognisable, then adds a more adaptable interior and a wider road-and-track brief.
For riders who genuinely value visibility in a racing tuck, stability at speed and an exact, customisable fit, it is a compelling development of AGV’s flagship idea. The solid carbon versions provide the cleanest value in the range, while the graphic and rider designs turn the helmet into something much more individual.
