The Arai Chaser V combines a full-face road layout with Arai’s wide-aperture SAI visor. It belongs to a different generation from the Chaser-X, so a familiar family name is not enough to identify a replacement screen. This collection is a place to consider the Chaser V as a complete helmet and to understand the parts that support comfortable, clear-sighted ownership.
The original Arai factsheet specifies a Super Fibre Laminate shell, an Air Conductor rear vent, a three-position chin vent and visor brow vents. Double-D retention is also documented. When comparing helmets, try the fastening and vent controls yourself. Look ahead and over each shoulder in a riding posture; your view and the way the helmet sits with your jacket are more useful than judging the shape from a photograph.
Arai lists the Chaser V under SAI and the Chaser-X under the later VAS system. Check the complete model label before buying a visor or side pod. Even where two helmets share an outer shield, another component can remain model-specific. For a visor change, follow the Chaser V release procedure and inspect both sides before riding. A shield should not need force to sit correctly.
Choose the part that solves the actual problem. A scratched outer visor needs a replacement outer visor; a missing anti-fog insert calls for the insert that matches that shield. Standard SAI and SAI Max Vision are separate insert choices. The gallery shows a complete Pro Shade arrangement alongside a Max Vision shield and its separate insert. These examples explain the alternatives without implying that all three must be bought together.
Clean the helmet using its original care instructions and allow damp comfort materials to dry before storage. Avoid treating every mark as a reason to add another accessory: persistent looseness, damaged fastening or an uncertain impact history needs a helmet assessment. If you are replacing an old Chaser V, try the replacement on afresh. The same nominal size in another Arai model may feel different around the crown and cheeks.
Bring your helmet when identifying replacement parts, or visit our showroom with your usual glasses and riding jacket to compare the fit of a complete helmet. We can help separate the helmet, visor and interior choices.
