Hot summer conditions
The Mistral Lady Evo 3 is built around large mesh panels and a light fixed lining. Furygan describes it as a jacket for high temperatures. It includes D3O shoulder and elbow protectors and a pocket for an optional Furygan back protector, but it does not use a waterproof membrane or removable thermal liner.
Touring in changeable weather
The Apalaches Lady Evo combines a fixed Humax waterproof and breathable membrane with a full-sleeve removable thermal lining and an AFS ventilation system. High-tenacity polyester, multiple adjustment points, jacket-to-trouser zip and numerous pockets suit longer journeys where weather protection and load-carrying matter.
Maximum modularity
The Odessa Vented 3-in-1 uses substantial mesh panels for airflow and two removable layers for warmth and waterproof, windproof protection. With both layers fitted it is the warmest and most weather-resistant configuration; removing them progressively exposes the vented outer shell for warmer riding.
Laminated road and touring use
The Sarah Trooper uses a lightweight three-layer laminated outer with Furygan's DRYCORE Genesis weather system, AFS vents and a removable full-sleeve thermal lining. Its waterproof layer is part of the laminated shell rather than a separate drop liner, while the cut and pocket layout follow a longer heritage-touring style.
Armour and fit
Furygan specifies D3O protectors at the shoulders and elbows across the principal models in this collection. Back protectors are not automatically included simply because a jacket has a rear pocket. Apalaches and Sarah also have pockets for compatible Furygan chest protectors. Always check the exact product specification and choose the correct protector shape and size.
A ladies' cut changes the proportions through the shoulders, chest, waist, hips and sleeves, but the size label alone cannot confirm the fit. Try the jacket with your usual base and mid-layers, close every zip and adopt a normal riding position. Shoulder armour should stay on the shoulder cup, elbow armour should continue to cover the elbow as your arms bend, and the collar and cuffs should remain comfortable when you reach for the controls.
Ventilation, waterproofing and layers
Mesh and vent openings can only move air when they are exposed. A removable waterproof or thermal layer will reduce airflow, while a fixed waterproof membrane can make a jacket feel warmer than an open-mesh summer model. Equally, a vented jacket without its weather layer cannot be expected to keep sustained rain out. Match the configuration to the forecast before setting off.
Waterproof and breathable also does not mean that every external pocket is waterproof. The Apalaches and Sarah specifications identify particular waterproof storage, so use the designated pocket or an additional waterproof pouch for electronics and documents. Close vents and secure storm flaps before riding into rain.
Jacket and trouser compatibility
The Apalaches Lady Evo has a full jacket-to-trouser connection zip and Furygan recommends pairing it with the Killington Lady trousers. The Odessa and Mistral use belt-connection tabs rather than the same full touring zip arrangement. Connection systems vary, so check both garments before assuming any jacket and trouser will zip together.

No. The Mistral Evo 3 is a highly vented summer jacket without a waterproof membrane. Apalaches, Odessa and Sarah use different waterproof systems, so check the individual specification.
Which jacket is best for hot weather?
The Mistral Evo 3 is the dedicated hot-weather option. The Odessa Vented 3-in-1 also provides strong airflow when both removable climate layers are taken out.
Do these jackets include a back protector?
They provide a pocket for a compatible Furygan back protector, but a back protector is not stated as standard equipment. Shoulder and elbow armour is supplied on the highlighted models.
Can an Apalaches jacket zip to Killington trousers?

Should I leave room for the thermal lining?
