The Arai RX-7V marks an important step in the RX family, combining a PB-SNC² shell with the VAS visor system. It is a sporting full-face helmet to assess for fit, visibility and controllable airflow, as well as graphic design. Owners should distinguish this original RX-7V from both the earlier RX-7 GP and the later EVO when selecting components.
Arai’s original technical material describes the VAS mechanism, Type 12 diffusers and an Eco Pure interior. These details help identify the model, but comfort still needs a fitting session. Check the view in your riding posture and the way the helmet behaves during a shoulder check. Dyno and Honda CB finishes illustrate the styling possibilities without changing the need to choose the correct shell fit.
Arai places RX-7V in the VAS family and the earlier RX-7 GP in SAI. Begin by reading your helmet label and the fitted visor marking, then check the exact replacement specification. For Max Vision equipment, choose the insert designed for that outer shield. A product title containing RX-7 does not establish compatibility with every generation, and a separate insert should not be mistaken for a complete visor.
Diffusers and the Air Wing form part of the RX-7V’s airflow and aerodynamic design. Look for damaged controls or missing pieces before deciding which component needs replacing. Match the named duct or spoiler to the helmet; a similarly shaped racing accessory may belong to another version. Consult the original fitting instructions instead of adapting holes or forcing an attachment into place.
Assess the interior and strap along with the outer shell. If a comfort pad needs replacing, record its marking and thickness so the intended fit can be checked afterwards. Age, wear and impact history remain relevant even when a helmet looks tidy. If replacing the whole helmet, compare current models afresh rather than assuming they reproduce the original RX-7V fit. Event approval and supplied accessories should also be checked against the exact product, not inherited from the family name.
Bring your helmet when identifying replacement parts, or visit our showroom with your usual glasses and riding jacket to compare the fit of a complete helmet. We can help separate the helmet, visor and interior choices.
