The Arai QV is a full-face road helmet whose visor and interior choices deserve as much attention as its graphics. Arai’s parts documentation names QV alongside QV-Pro in the VAS-V family, but the exact helmet and accessory specification still matter. Start with a careful fit assessment, then compare finishes and the components appropriate to your own helmet.
Charged and Diverge graphics illustrate different QV appearances, not different reasons to accept a poor fit. Try the helmet with your everyday glasses, fasten it properly and check contact around the crown and cheeks. Spend enough time wearing it to distinguish an evenly snug fit from a local pressure point. If you are replacing another Arai, treat its size as a starting point for the fitting session rather than a final answer.
Arai’s QV parts listing includes VAS-V shields, a Max Vision option and Pro Shade components. Those names identify different items within the same wider system. Check the marking on your existing visor and decide whether you need an outer shield, its matching insert or a shade component. A photograph of a complete shade assembly can be misleading if the item for sale is only its replacement blade.
The manufacturer’s QV/QV-Pro table separates cheek-pad thicknesses and interior sizes. Record both the helmet size and the component marking before selecting a replacement. The aim is to retain the correct support, not simply install the thickest pad offered. If the shell shifts around your head, or a replacement liner causes a new pressure point, have the fit checked before riding.
Operate the visor latch and vents before setting off, keep the viewing surface clean and investigate an uneven seal rather than accepting it as normal wear. Use the helmet’s own care and replacement instructions. For older QV helmets, consider age and condition alongside the cost of new parts. When comparing a complete QV with another model, verify the exact package contents; a QV-Pro description or picture does not establish what is supplied with every QV.
Bring your helmet when identifying replacement parts, or visit our showroom with your usual glasses and riding jacket to compare the fit of a complete helmet. We can help separate the helmet, visor and interior choices.
