The Arai Quantum ST is a full-face helmet with an SAI visor system and serviceable comfort components. For riders comparing one or looking after an existing helmet, the useful questions concern fit over a longer journey, ventilation, clear vision and exact part identification. Keep the Quantum ST designation separate from the Quantum and Quantum ST Pro when selecting interior pieces.
The manufacturer-supplied specification recorded by SHARP identifies a fibreglass shell, double-D fastening, multiple ventilation points and removable lining and cheek pads. Use those features as a fitting checklist rather than a guarantee of comfort. Wear the helmet long enough to notice concentrated pressure, check the strap can be adjusted neatly, and look through the visor in your usual riding posture. Glasses and a jacket collar should be part of that assessment.
Arai’s parts book gives Quantum, Quantum ST and Quantum ST Pro separate interior tables. A shared visor family therefore does not make the comfort lining universal. Note the helmet size, liner code and pad thickness before ordering. Replacing tired comfort padding can restore the intended contact, but it should not be used to disguise an incorrectly sized shell or damage elsewhere in the helmet.
Quantum ST takes SAI visors. Identify whether you have a standard or Max Vision version before choosing an anti-fog insert, and distinguish the outer shield from the smaller insert behind it. The illustrated Pro Shade system adds an external shade arrangement; it is a different purchase from a replacement shade blade. Choose a clear-view solution for journeys that extend into poor light, and check the markings and use restrictions on any tinted accessory.
Follow the model instructions when removing the lining or releasing the visor. Before a ride, check the shield closes evenly, the latch works and vents are unobstructed. If a replacement part still leaves a poor seal or an unreliable mechanism, have the assembly assessed rather than tightening it repeatedly. With any older Quantum ST, review the helmet’s age and condition before deciding that another accessory is the right next purchase.
Bring your helmet when identifying replacement parts, or visit our showroom with your usual glasses and riding jacket to compare the fit of a complete helmet. We can help separate the helmet, visor and interior choices.
