Arai Freeway Classic is an open-face motorcycle helmet with a simple retro profile. Its exposed face, replaceable ear cups and goggle strap retainer make eye protection and a secure fit central to the buying decision, whether the bike is a classic roadster or an everyday urban machine.
The Freeway Classic uses Arai’s Special Fibre Laminate shell construction and a double-D strap. It has no full-face chin bar, so choose this format with a clear understanding of the coverage it provides. The manufacturer’s original factsheet identifies ECE 22.05; verify the actual helmet’s label rather than assuming a later standard from its appearance or a new colour scheme.
A rear strap band helps retain a goggle strap, but the goggles themselves need to fit the opening and your face. Check that the frame sits comfortably, does not obstruct your view and does not push the helmet away from its proper position. Bring prescription glasses if relevant. The presence of a strap retainer does not establish universal goggle compatibility.
The Freeway Classic features leatherette interior details and replaceable ear cups offered in different thicknesses. Start by choosing a helmet that supports your head securely with the strap done up. If an ear-cup adjustment is needed, confirm the correct component with a fitter. Do not remove padding simply to create space for glasses or communication equipment.
The three helmets shown illustrate the model’s shape and different finishes, without defining future availability. Follow Arai’s cleaning instructions, using mild soap and lukewarm water where specified and avoiding direct heat when drying. Check the strap, interior and shell regularly. Refreshing the appearance or replacing ear cups cannot restore a helmet that has suffered an impact or has an uncertain history.
Bring your helmet when identifying replacement parts, or visit our showroom with your usual glasses and riding jacket to compare the fit of a complete helmet. We can help separate the helmet, visor and interior choices.
