Arai Axces 3 is a full-face road helmet with a fibreglass shell and double-D fastening. Its older SAI visor family is an important ownership detail: selecting an outer visor, anti-fog insert or side holder requires more precision than choosing an Arai-branded part.
The original Axces 3 specification includes ventilation, a quick-release visor arrangement and removable cheek pads. Check the way the fastened helmet supports your head, especially around the temples and lower cheeks. Your normal glasses should sit comfortably without disturbing the fit or seal. Appearance and size lettering alone cannot establish whether a helmet suits your head shape.
Arai’s UK visor guide identifies Axces III with the SAI family, while models such as Chaser-X use VAS. These are not alternative names for one universal visor. Start from the model label and the part reference. The clear SAI screen and side holders shown here are component illustrations, not a complete helmet or a promise that all mounting pieces are supplied together.
Within SAI, standard and Max Vision screens need the corresponding insert format. Inspect the actual outer screen and its lens mounting arrangement before selecting a replacement insert. A tinted outer screen and an anti-fog lens also serve different purposes. If you are changing the screen type as well as the insert, check both as a pair rather than reusing a lens by appearance.
Record the original holder and pad references and compare them with Arai’s model-specific parts information. Replacement comfort pieces or an unmarked visor do not reset a helmet’s age or erase impact history. Ask for an assessment if the shell, strap or mounting areas are damaged. Some Arai repairs require a trained technician, so check the fitting requirements before dismantling unfamiliar parts.
Bring your helmet when identifying replacement parts, or visit our showroom with your usual glasses and riding jacket to compare the fit of a complete helmet. We can help separate the helmet, visor and interior choices.
