The Arai Axces-2, also labelled Axces II, is an earlier full-face road helmet built around a broad SAI visor opening. Understanding that generation is the starting point for choosing a helmet or keeping an existing one properly equipped. Compare the fit and condition of the complete helmet, then identify replacement screens and comfort parts by their exact references.
Arai’s original factsheet describes a fibre-laminate shell, a front intake, a one-piece rear exhaust and an adjustable chin vent. Brow vents feed air towards the forehead. These are useful features to examine when assessing an Axces II: operate each control with your riding gloves and check that an added accessory will not cover an opening. A smooth control movement matters more than choosing a matching colour for a worn component.
Arai identifies SAI as the visor family for Axces II. Within that family, standard Pinlock-ready and Max Vision shields require the corresponding insert; the helmet name alone does not settle that second choice. Read the marking on the fitted shield before ordering. The gallery illustrates a Pro Shade assembly, a clear Max Vision outer shield and a separate insert, each serving a different purpose. A sun-shade-only replacement is not a complete visor kit.
Replaceable cheek pads are a documented Axces II feature, with different thicknesses used to refine contact around the jaw. Establish the correct shell fit first. A helmet that moves freely around the crown needs an assessment rather than an improvised combination of pads. If replacing cheek pads, retain the old reference and confirm the required thickness and helmet size. Do not assume an Axces or Axces III interior fits because the names are similar.
Before investing in cosmetic parts, check the helmet’s age, history, retention strap and impact-absorbing liner. New padding or a clear screen cannot renew the protective structure. For cleaning and fitting procedures, use the Axces II instructions and avoid forcing the visor mechanism. Bring the helmet to Moto Central if its label, visor type or previous modifications make the part choice uncertain. That gives us a useful starting point for identifying what is actually fitted.
Bring your helmet when identifying replacement parts, or visit our showroom with your usual glasses and riding jacket to compare the fit of a complete helmet. We can help separate the helmet, visor and interior choices.
