A waterproof membrane does not prove that a trouser has a thermal liner, and a detachable liner does not prove that the outer shell is waterproof. Direct laminate, fixed membrane and detachable shell arrangements should be read individually because they affect water absorption, drying and the way ventilation reaches the rider.
Ultimax combines a waterproof direct laminate with a removable thermal liner. Synchrone uses a separate waterproof shell and mesh core. Qargon Tapered is designed around warm-weather ventilation and should not be described as waterproof without a stated membrane.
Garment certification and impact protection
The EN 17092 class of the complete trouser and the EN 1621 level of a knee or hip protector are separate facts. Check the garment label for its class, then confirm which R.I.S.C. protectors are supplied and which are optional. Never transfer an armour level or garment class from one Macna model to the whole collection.
