This Macna body armour collection contains three distinct products: the wearable Vault back protector, a separate chest protector and a RISC back-protector insert. They solve different fitting needs and should not be treated as one interchangeable system.

Macna Vault wearable back protector in white and black — The Vault is a wearable back-protection format with garment-size options, rather than a simple pocket insert.

Black Macna motorcycle chest protector insert — The chest protector is intended for the front protector position in compatible Macna equipment.

Black Macna RISC motorcycle back protector insert — The RISC back protector is a pocket insert offered in different sizes. Match it to the jacket specification and pocket dimensions.

Choose by format and compatibility

Vault back protector

Choose the Vault when you need a separately worn back-protection layer. Select its size for a close, stable fit that remains comfortable under your outer motorcycle clothing.

RISC back insert

The RISC product fits a compatible jacket pocket. Check the pocket shape, opening, protector orientation and required size before ordering.

Chest protector

The chest product covers a different body area and uses its own fitting arrangement. Confirm that the exact Macna garment is designed to accept it.

Approval markings

Read the standard, level and size on the individual protector. Back and chest protectors are assessed under different parts of the EN 1621 series, so one marking should not be applied across all three products.

Before you order: compare the product code and dimensions with the garment manual or existing insert. Once fitted, the protector should remain centred and flat when you lean forward, reach for the bars and move your shoulders.

What body armour does and does not do

These products are designed to reduce transmitted impact force at a defined body area. An insert does not replace a certified motorcycle jacket, and neither a back nor chest protector provides shoulder or elbow coverage. The outer garment remains responsible for its own abrasion and seam performance.

Why buy Macna armour from Moto Central?

Moto Central presents the complete live Macna selection without combining the Vault, RISC and chest formats into a single set of claims. Our team can help you compare the protector with your Macna garment when the pocket or size label is uncertain.

Common questions

Is the Vault the same as the RISC insert?

No. The Vault is a wearable format, while the RISC back protector is designed for a compatible internal pocket.

Can I place an insert loose inside a jacket?

No. A pocket insert needs the correct compartment and closure so it stays over the intended area.

Will one size fit every Macna jacket?

No. Check the garment's specified protector size and compare dimensions, especially when fitting an older jacket.

Should I remove armour before washing?

Follow the garment care label. Removable protectors normally need to be taken out before washing the clothing.
