Held Jackets

Held motorcycle jackets cover ventilated summer textiles, waterproof touring and adventure designs, leather jackets, women-specific fits, over-jackets and specialist protection garments. Moto Central's collection brings these different constructions together, but the right jacket depends on climate, riding position, fit, supplied armour and the trousers or airbag system it needs to work with.

No single feature applies across the whole range. Some jackets use an integrated Held-Tex or Gore-Tex membrane, some use mesh for airflow, and others are non-waterproof leather. Armour level, garment class, connection zip, removable layers and airbag compatibility also vary, so compare the full specification of each model.

Choose the right type of Held jacket

Waterproofing and ventilation

For regular wet-weather use, identify whether the jacket uses an integrated membrane, a drop liner or a removable weather layer. Check storm flaps, cuff and collar closure, pocket construction and the way the jacket overlaps with gloves and trousers. A waterproof membrane does not mean every pocket is waterproof unless the specification says so.

Ventilation only works when openings and internal airflow paths are used correctly. Direct mesh panels provide different airflow from zipped vents through a laminate. Remove or adjust insulating layers as intended, but do not assume that opening a jacket widely is safe if it compromises its closure or protector position.

For especially hot riding, a purpose-built mesh jacket such as Tropic 4 Top may be more appropriate than trying to make a waterproof laminate behave like open mesh. For mixed weather, a model such as Lonborg Top combines a weatherproof laminate with product-specific vents and a removable thermal layer.

How a motorcycle jacket should fit

Put the jacket on with the base layer and insulation you expect to use, then sit in a riding position. The collar should not push into the throat, sleeves should reach the wrists, and the shoulders should move naturally without pulling the jacket away from the body.

Shoulder and elbow protectors need to remain over the intended areas. Check the elbows with arms bent and hands on the controls. If the protectors move around the arm or drop below the joint, try the adjustment, another size or a different proportion rather than relying on the standing fit.

Match a Held jacket with trousers

For touring and adventure combinations, compare the jacket with Held textile trousers. For leather outfits, see Held leather trousers. Check the connection zip length and model compatibility rather than assuming that every jacket and trouser will join because both carry the Held name.

The overlap with Held motorcycle boots and glove cuffs also affects weather protection. Water should be directed away from openings, while closures must remain secure and comfortable when every part of the kit is worn together.

Layers, Clip-in and accessories

Selected Held jackets use the Clip-in system for compatible internal garments. These products attach through dedicated loops and press studs and are not the same as an ordinary next-to-skin layer. Compare Held base layers and Clip-in garments, then verify the jacket's own compatibility.

Other model-specific options include back and chest protectors, collar systems or connection accessories. The Held accessories collection contains current compatible items, but each part should be matched to the relevant garment rather than chosen by brand alone.

Why compare Held jackets at Moto Central?

Moto Central carries Held jackets across textile, leather, touring, adventure, summer and women-specific categories. Product pages show current sizes, colours and the exact armour, membrane and compatibility details, while the team can help compare fit proportions and intended matching garments.

This allows riders to choose a jacket around real conditions and a complete outfit, rather than assuming every Held model is waterproof, uses D3O or includes the same protector package.
