DMD Rocket helmets combine a rounded full-face profile with a built-in visor that gives the model its recognisable 1970s character. The integrated eye protection is a useful distinction when comparing it with DMD designs built around separate goggles. Consider how the visor operates, how the helmet fits and which replacement components belong to your version.
DMD identifies a magnetic closure as a defining feature of the Rocket visor. Operate it during a fitting and check that the shield seats properly. Confirm the exact Rocket replacement visor before ordering, including its tint and intended conditions. A similarly curved DMD shield should not be assumed to use the same mounting arrangement.
For the Rocket White, DMD specifies a carbon-Kevlar shell, a removable and washable interior and a double D-ring strap. That manufacturer listing identifies ECE 22.05 approval. Use the particular helmet's documentation and label when comparing specifications; the retro appearance does not tell you its approval version or whether it matches another DMD model.
Check the cheek and crown contact with the strap fastened, then lower the visor and try your glasses if you use them. Look through the shield in your normal riding posture and assess access to its edge with gloves. Finish and graphics can change the character of the helmet, but should come after comfort and a clear, usable view.
DMD recommends mild soap and warm water for the Rocket shell and drying at room temperature. Follow the separate instructions for the visor and removable interior, avoiding household solvents. Keep the model name when sourcing a liner or shield so that parts intended for the Racer or Rivale are not confused with Rocket components. The broader DMD range offers other eye-protection arrangements to compare.
