Motorcycle straps cover several different jobs, from securing a bike in a van to carrying luggage or providing a handhold on an off-road machine. Choose the type for the task first. Then compare its adjustment, attachment method, stated capacity and the points it connects to, rather than treating every webbing strap as interchangeable.

Securing a motorcycle for transport
Transport tie-downs use webbing and a tensioning mechanism to restrain the motorcycle within a suitable loading arrangement. Ratchet and other buckle designs work differently, so check how the chosen system is intended to be tensioned and released. Oxford's ratchet straps illustrate useful details to compare, including coated hooks, extension loops and a stated working load.
Choose attachment points using the motorcycle and restraint manufacturers' instructions. The straps, hooks and vehicle anchors need to suit the complete arrangement. Do not assume a published breaking figure is the same as the permitted working load, or that an accessory's appearance establishes its capacity.
Look closely at the connections
Loops and hooks
Soft loops can keep a metal hook away from the motorcycle, where that arrangement is approved. Compare hook shape, closure and how the connection remains seated. Check that the supplied parts fit the intended mounting points.
Dedicated supports
Handlebar supports, wheel restraints and anchor fittings have their own fitting requirements. Confirm the exact compatibility and what else is needed. An accessory should be assessed as part of the complete system, not as a substitute for reading its instructions.
Carrying luggage is a different task
Luggage straps are designed around bags and other loads carried on the motorcycle. ROK Straps, for example, combines webbing, an elastic section and a buckle with loop attachments. The useful questions are whether the length suits the load, where the ends attach and how spare material is kept out of the way.
Stay within the bike and luggage carrier's limits and follow the strap's own adjustment guidance. Compare cargo nets for suitable lighter items, or browse motorcycle luggage for bags with dedicated mounting systems.
Check the purpose before ordering
An off-road grab strap is a handhold for manoeuvring the bike; do not assume it is rated as a transport tie-down or towing point. Check the package contents, usable length and condition of webbing, stitching and fittings. For loading equipment and workspace accessories, see motorcycle garage items.
Explain what you need to secure
Tell Moto Central whether you are transporting the motorcycle or attaching luggage, and describe the available mounting points. Contact the showroom about the specific strap or fitting you want to compare.
