Product Details
The Oxford HotGrips Pro 2.0 Adventure Heated Grips in Black provide controlled warmth for cold-weather motorcycle riding without a separate handlebar-mounted control unit. The button and colour LED are built into the clutch-side grip, keeping the controls close to your hand, while a thermistor in each grip independently monitors and regulates its temperature.
This Adventure version uses Oxford's off-road-inspired tread and fits most motorcycles with standard 22 mm (7/8 inch) handlebars. Its open-ended grips are 132 mm long and include marked trim points at 123 mm, 120 mm and 117 mm, helping accommodate different throttle tubes, switchgear positions and bar-end weights. Always confirm the available grip length and cable clearance on your motorcycle before installation.

Press and hold the integrated button for three seconds to switch the grips on or off, then press it briefly to move through the five settings. The illuminated button shows the selected level before dimming. Actual feel can vary with ambient temperature, glove construction and airflow.
Adventure grip design
- Hexagonal tread zones are designed to absorb vibration and improve durability
- Knurled sections increase contact area for grip and control
- Raised gripper bars support control on rough terrain
- Standard length: 132 mm
- Marked minimum trim lengths: 123 mm, 120 mm or 117 mm
- Oxford product code: EL400
- Colour: Black
Electrical specification
- For 12 V motorcycle electrical systems only
- Average current draw: 3.6 A per pair
- Power: 50 W at 14.0 V
- Protected by the supplied 5 A mini-blade fuse
- Direct battery connection is recommended; a suitable ignition-switched feed must support up to 4 A
The factory battery-saving mode is configured for lead-acid batteries and can be changed to the dedicated LiFePO4 lithium mode. The system monitors supply voltage and switches the grips off when the relevant low-voltage conditions are detected. Battery-saving mode can also be disabled, but doing so may allow the grips to drain the battery if they are left switched on.
What is supplied?
- One clutch-side heated grip with approximately 0.7 m of wiring
- One throttle-side heated grip with approximately 0.65 m of wiring
- 1.35 m fused wiring loom with battery ring terminals and waterproof connectors
- Oxford grip superglue
A separate external heat controller is not required because the switch and LED are integrated into the clutch-side grip.
Fitment guidance
Dry-fit both grips before using adhesive. The throttle tube must be clean and smooth, and the throttle must return freely throughout its full movement after installation. Route the wiring away from hot, sharp or moving parts and leave enough slack for full steering movement. Oxford recommends connecting the loom directly to the battery; if an ignition-switched supply is used, it must be appropriately rated and must not be shared with horn or lighting circuits.
Use the supplied superglue exactly as directed and allow at least 24 hours for it to cure before riding. These grips are intended for use with motorcycle gloves. If you are unsure about electrical loading, throttle operation or installation, arrange professional fitting.
Common questions
Will these fit every motorcycle?
No. They are designed for most motorcycles with 22 mm (7/8 inch) handlebars, but you must check grip length, throttle-tube diameter, switchgear position, cable routing and bar-end clearance for your bike.
Can the grips be shortened?
Yes. The Adventure grips have marked trim points for 123 mm, 120 mm and 117 mm lengths. Do not cut beyond the marked minimum or damage the heating elements.
Do I need a separate controller?
No. Temperature control and the status LED are integrated into the clutch-side grip.
Are these a replacement for winter gloves?
No. Heated grips warm the contact area of your hands, but suitable protective motorcycle gloves and other weather-appropriate riding kit are still required.
