The Biltwell Gringo S/SV Shield Pinlock system combines robust materials with advanced optic technologies. In sunny conditions, the Pinlock® ProtecTINT™ lens quickly transitions to a light smoke tint, dramatically reducing glare and enhancing comfort. When riding at night or in low-light situations, the ProtecTINT™ lens reverts to clear, ensuring optimal visibility. In wet weather and high humidity, Pinlock’s patented Dry Hydrophilic lens technology effectively absorbs and retains moisture, providing virtually fog-free vision. This system ensures that riders maintain clear vision regardless of the weather or light conditions. Compatibility

• Fits: Biltwell Gringo S and Gringo SV helmets certified to ECE R22.06.
• Exact reference: Biltwell MPN 1114-402 and distributor reference 999435.
• Generation restriction: this assembly does not fit the earlier ECE R22.05 Gringo S because Biltwell changed the shield closure. It must not be confused with the older Gringo S Gen 2 flat-shield or bubble-shield systems.
• What is supplied: a clear, impact-resistant Gringo S/SV R22.06 outer shield with the Pinlock ProtecTINT anti-fog insert pre-installed, plus Biltwell Gen 2 hinge hardware.
• Outer shield versus insert: this is a complete shield-and-insert assembly, not a loose Pinlock lens. The outer shield provides the physical eye-port protection; the inner ProtecTINT lens provides the moisture-absorbing anti-fog layer and changes from clear to light smoke in sunlight.
• Sizing: the assembly is unsized and fits documented Gringo S/SV R22.06 helmet sizes through their common shield system. It is not selected by shell group or liner thickness.
• Not confirmed for: original Gringo, Lane Splitter, Tahoe or other Biltwell helmet families.

Care: use mild soapy water and a lint-free microfibre cloth. Household glass cleaners, ammonia, bleach and petroleum-based chemicals can damage the shield coatings and the ProtecTINT lens.
