Motocross Gear

Motocross gear is built as a coordinated off-road system rather than a road outfit with different graphics. The range includes peaked helmets, goggles, jerseys, trousers, gloves, motocross boots, body armour, knee protection and junior equipment for track riding, practice sessions and related off-road disciplines.
Each component has a different job. Lightweight jerseys and motocross trousers manage movement, airflow and abrasion in use, but they do not automatically provide the impact protection of separate certified armour. Check the specification, certification and intended activity for every item.

Build motocross kit in the right order
Helmet and goggles
Measure the head and choose an evenly secure helmet before matching goggles. The goggle frame should seal against the face without lifting the helmet or leaving an awkward gap at the port. Check the lens for the conditions and carry a suitable spare where light or weather may change.
Body armour
Chest, back, shoulder, elbow and knee protection may be supplied as separate pieces or combined garments. Check exactly which areas are certified, the protection level, adjustment range and whether the armour is designed to sit beneath or above the jersey.
Jersey, trousers and gloves
Off-road clothing needs room for the intended armour while staying clear of controls and moving parts. Confirm whether trousers are cut to fit inside motocross boots and whether knee panels allow space for guards or braces. Gloves should close securely and preserve control feel.
Motocross boots
Boots should secure the heel, protect the lower leg and allow deliberate brake and gear-lever operation. Try them with the chosen socks, trousers and knee protection because the combined bulk can change buckle adjustment and comfort.
Motocross clothing is not the same as road PPE. Jerseys and MX trousers may rely on separate armour, and some helmets or goggles may be intended only for specific environments. If any part of the ride uses public roads, confirm that every legally required item carries the appropriate road approval.
Motocross, enduro and adventure are different
Dedicated motocross kit favours movement, ventilation and equipment that works during short, physically demanding sessions. Enduro riders may need greater weather flexibility, hydration capacity or road-approved equipment for liaison sections. Adventure clothing usually adds road-touring features and should not be assumed to fit or perform like specialist MX gear.
Choose for the activity you will actually do. Track operators, clubs and competition organisers can set their own equipment rules, including requirements for helmets, boots, body armour and eye protection. Check the current regulations before attending rather than relying on a product's category tag.
Adult and junior fit
Junior equipment is not simply a scaled label. Use the exact brand chart for helmet circumference, chest, waist, height, gloves and boots. Armour should cover the intended area without slipping, while the child must be able to turn the head, bend the elbows and knees and operate all controls comfortably.
Do not buy an oversized helmet or body protector for a child to grow into. Excess movement can prevent equipment from staying correctly positioned. Recheck fit regularly and replace any component that has been outgrown, damaged or subjected to an impact requiring replacement under the manufacturer's guidance.
Cleaning off-road equipment
Remove loose mud gently before washing, follow the care labels and avoid aggressive chemicals or pressure washing protective equipment. Helmet liners, goggle lenses, leather, plastic shells and technical fabrics need different cleaning methods. Let kit dry naturally away from direct heat and inspect fasteners, seams, lenses, buckles and armour before the next ride.
Why shop motocross gear at Moto Central?
Moto Central brings adult and junior off-road equipment from multiple specialist brands into one range, making it easier to compare fit, intended use, protection and colour. Product-specific descriptions help you identify what is included, what must be added separately and which sizes or replacement parts match the exact model.
Begin with a correctly fitting motocross helmet, then choose goggles that work with its eye port. Add suitable body armour, clothing, motocross boots and motorcycle gloves, checking every interface rather than treating each item in isolation. Suitable cleaning products can then help maintain the kit according to its care instructions.
Customer questions
Do motocross jerseys contain armour?
Usually not, unless the exact product states otherwise. Many are designed to fit with separate body protection, so check what is included before riding.
Can I use any goggles with any MX helmet?
No. Frame width, face foam and helmet eye-port shape vary. Test the combination to make sure the goggles seal correctly without disturbing helmet fit.
Can motocross equipment be used on the road?
Only where the exact item has the required approval and is suitable for that use. Competition or off-road classification alone does not make equipment road legal.
How should motocross boots fit?
They should hold the heel and lower leg securely while still allowing deliberate control operation. Try them with the trousers, socks and knee protection you intend to wear.
