Helmets with Pinlock
200 products
Showing 1 - 48 of 200 products
Motorcycle helmets with a Pinlock insert included give riders a model-specific anti-fog lens that fits behind the prepared outer visor. This collection spans full-face, flip-front, adventure, open-face and sports helmets, so Pinlock inclusion is one specification to compare rather than a substitute for correct fit, certification and intended use.
Check the individual product page for the insert supplied with the exact helmet. “Pinlock-ready” means the visor has mounting pins or preparation, while “Pinlock included” means an insert is supplied in the box. Those descriptions are not interchangeable.
How a Pinlock insert helps
A Pinlock lens works with a moisture-absorbing surface and a silicone seal. Once correctly fitted between the visor pins, the sealed air layer creates a thermal barrier while the insert manages moisture. This reduces condensation across the area covered by the insert.
The insert does not make the helmet visor impossible to fog in every circumstance. A poor seal, incorrect tension, contamination, damage or extreme humidity can reduce performance. Helmet ventilation and breath management still matter.
Pinlock included or Pinlock-ready?
Pinlock included
The compatible anti-fog lens is supplied with the helmet. It may be packed separately and require installation before use.
Pinlock-ready visor
The outer visor has the preparation needed for an insert, but the insert may need to be purchased separately. Always read the box-contents list.
MaxVision
MaxVision describes an insert designed to sit in a visor recess and cover a wider usable area. It is a design format, not the anti-fog performance number.
Model-specific fitment
Pin spacing, visor curvature and insert size vary. Match the helmet, visor and DKS reference rather than choosing by brand alone.
Pinlock 30, 70, 120 and 200
Pinlock identifies four anti-fog performance levels. Pinlock 30 is the entry level, Pinlock 70 is intended for reliable everyday use, Pinlock 120 offers advanced performance for more demanding conditions, and Pinlock 200 sits at the highest stated performance level.
The number describes fog resistance rather than optical tint or visor compatibility. Shoei uses the name Pinlock EVO for its high-performance insert, equivalent to Pinlock 120. AGV specifies a Pinlock 120XLT MaxVision insert for the K7. Always use the level and insert code stated for the helmet rather than assuming a higher number will fit.
Choose the helmet first
Pinlock inclusion is useful for commuting, winter riding, touring and other conditions where temperature and humidity encourage visor fogging. It should not outweigh the fundamentals of helmet choice.
Fit and head shape
The helmet should hold the head evenly without painful pressure points or excessive movement. Compare our helmet sizing guide before selecting a size.
Helmet format
Decide whether full-face, flip-front, adventure or another construction suits the motorcycle and journey. Each type changes weight, aperture, ventilation and convenience.
Visor and sun protection
Check the clear outer visor, any internal sun visor and whether alternative outer visors are available. Pinlock only manages the prepared outer visor.
Replacement support
Confirm that the correct visor and insert remain available. Browse helmet spares and accessories by exact helmet and visor code.
Fit the insert carefully
Start with a clean, dry visor and follow the current Pinlock and helmet-manufacturer instructions. The insert must sit against the visor with a continuous seal. Do not touch the moisture-absorbing surface more than necessary, and do not force the lens past the pins.
If the seal has gaps, use the permitted pin adjustment described in the instructions. Too little tension can leave a leak; excessive tension can distort the insert. Check the result across the full perimeter before refitting the visor.
Cleaning and looking after Pinlock
Remove loose dust first and clean the insert only as instructed by Pinlock. Avoid solvents, abrasive cloths and hard rubbing. Allow it to air dry before refitting, and store it where the silicone seal and lens surface cannot be scratched or compressed.
Clean the outer visor separately using the helmet manufacturer's method. If the visor is deeply scratched, cracked or distorted, replace the visor rather than expecting a new insert to restore clear vision.
Pinlock in cold, wet and humid riding
Anti-fog performance is most valuable when the air outside is cold and moisture builds inside the helmet, but the ventilation system should still be used. Open the chin vent, position the breath guard correctly and keep the visor seal and vents clear.
If condensation appears outside the visor in fog or rain, the inner insert cannot remove it because the moisture is on the outer surface. Slow down, increase distance and clear the visor safely without using a hand or glove that could scratch it.
Why compare Pinlock-included helmets at Moto Central?
Moto Central groups helmets whose current specification states that the Pinlock insert is included, helping riders separate them from products that only have a prepared visor. The range covers multiple brands, price points and helmet formats without suggesting that one anti-fog specification determines the best helmet.
Our showroom team can check helmet size and head shape, explain the insert supplied and help fit it to the visor. We can also identify replacement inserts from the helmet model, visor code and DKS reference. See the wider motorcycle helmet collection if Pinlock inclusion is not your first filter.
Customer questions
Does Pinlock included mean it is already fitted?
Not always. The insert is often packed separately in the helmet box and must be fitted before use.
Is a Pinlock-ready helmet supplied with the insert?
Not necessarily. “Ready” describes the visor preparation. Look for “Pinlock included” or check the product's box contents.
Is Pinlock EVO the same as Pinlock 120?
Yes. Pinlock EVO is Shoei's name for the Pinlock 120 performance level.
Can I use any Pinlock insert in any prepared visor?
No. Match the insert to the exact helmet, visor profile, pins and DKS reference.
Why is my visor still fogging with Pinlock fitted?
Check for gaps in the silicone seal, incorrect tension, contamination or damage. Also confirm that the moisture is on the inside rather than the outside of the visor.
