Within the EN 17092 garment standard, Class A uses lower performance requirements than Class AA and Class AAA and is commonly associated with designs that place greater emphasis on lightness, flexibility or warm-weather comfort.

What the A rating does and does not tell you

The class applies to the garment as assessed. It is separate from the Level 1 or Level 2 rating of an individual impact protector, so check the product page for the armour supplied at the shoulders, elbows, hips or knees and whether a back or chest protector is optional.
