XX-Small motorcycle helmets serve riders who require an XXS or 2XS fitting in the chosen range. These labels need careful interpretation because adult sizing and dedicated youth sizing can use different charts.
XXS and youth sizes are not interchangeable
HJC's reference chart separates its numbered sizes from the YS, YM and YL youth entries used for particular models. This illustrates why a small head measurement should be matched to the actual helmet range, rather than converted from an age, clothing size or another manufacturer's youth label.
Fit the helmet to the wearer now
The rider should be present for a fitting, including when buying for a child. Do not choose extra room as a growth allowance: the helmet needs to fit securely when it is used. Check its position and the wearer's view as well as the retention system, using the exact manufacturer's fitting instructions and our helmet sizing guide.
Review the whole specification
An XXS tag does not tell you the helmet's intended user, approval, shell construction or visor equipment. Confirm those details on the individual listing. For a younger rider, make sure they can explain discomfort during the fitting; for any rider, compare practical access to the fastening and ventilation rather than judging suitability from the graphics.
Compare your options at Moto Central
Bring the intended wearer to Moto Central for an XXS comparison. A measurement is useful preparation, but another person's judgement of the fit cannot replace trying the helmet on.
