Z1R Range is a dual-sport helmet family built around the choice between a road visor and a more open trail configuration. Choosing a helmet or maintaining an existing one starts with identifying the precise Range generation, then matching its fit, peak, shield and interior components to the way you ride.
Z1R's original Range combines a peaked shell with an outer face shield and an internal sun visor. The manufacturer's historic specification includes an adjustable, removable peak and removable comfort padding. Range, Range MIPS and Range 2.0 names appear in different generations of the catalogue: a similar outline does not establish identical construction or parts compatibility.
These components do different jobs. The peak sits above the eye opening, the outer visor closes across it, and the internal sun visor is a separate lens. Decide which item needs replacing before comparing finishes. Follow the instructions for the exact helmet when changing its configuration and retain the required fixings; a conversion should not depend on improvised washers or a part that only looks close.
A crown liner and cheek pads are separate components, with size and thickness choices in the original parts catalogue. Match the helmet's label and the old component reference before ordering. New comfort padding can refresh an otherwise serviceable interior, but it does not repair an impact-damaged shell or energy-absorbing liner.
The historic Range specification should not be read as a promise that every later version has the same approval. Check the complete helmet's own label and supplied instructions. For spares, compare the model, shell-size application, mounting points and part number together. Bring the helmet or clear photographs of its labels when asking Moto Central to identify an uncertain component.
