TCX RT-Race is a sports boot designed around close foot retention and controlled ankle movement. It is worth considering where a secure fit with leathers and clear feel at the controls take priority over the freedom of a casual riding shoe.

Fit from the inside out

TCX's Fasten Fit Control uses internal lacing connected to the lining, while the outer closure combines a zip, stretch panel and micro-adjustable aluminium buckle. Set the internal fit before finishing the outer fastening. Check that tightening one area does not create pressure elsewhere or leave the heel lifting.

Support with movement

The manufacturer identifies its Double Flex Control ankle system, microfibre upper and breathable Air Tech mesh lining. These features should be assessed in your normal riding position. Try the boots with the socks and trousers you intend to use, and check toe room as well as the fit around the calf.

Match sliders to the version

RT-Race uses replaceable slider components, but materials and fittings should be checked against the exact product. The gallery includes an alloy toe-slider accessory separately from complete boots. Do not assume that an accessory name establishes compatibility with every TCX racing model, and inspect its mounting area before replacing a worn slider.
