TCX Dartwood offers understated motorcycle footwear for journeys that carry on after parking. Choosing a pair means balancing weather protection, easy fastening and walking comfort, rather than choosing solely by its casual appearance.

Read the version name

Dartwood GTX is the Gore-Tex version. Other Dartwood names should be checked against their own product specification, rather than assumed to share its membrane or upper. Even within a continuing model family, materials can change between generations, so match the description to the actual pair.

Support beneath the leather

For Dartwood GTX, TCX specifies a full-grain leather upper, D3O ankle inserts and toe and heel reinforcement. The Zplate insert is designed to combine lengthwise flexibility with transverse rigidity. Groundtrax rubber and an OrthoLite footbed complete a construction intended for both riding and walking; they do not make every surface slip-proof.

Set the laces, use the zip

The GTX design combines laces with a side zip and an elastic lace-retaining band. Establish a comfortable lace adjustment first, then check the zip closes without pulling the upper tight against your ankle. Assess both feet in a riding stance and ensure excess lace cannot reach the controls.
