The original Spada Orion combines a flip-front helmet layout with an outer visor and an internal sun visor. It deserves careful identification because Orion and Orion 2 are separate model names, even where an accessory has an explicitly shared application. Compare the complete helmet's fit and condition, then select any service part against the exact version you own.
Read the name and approval label inside the helmet before borrowing specifications from a newer Orion 2. A similar graphic or white shell is not reliable identification. With the chin section closed, assess clearance around the face and the position of the eye opening. Operate the release while stationary and check that the front closes positively. Follow the original helmet's own instructions for its permitted riding configuration.
Spada publishes an Orion size chart, but its measurements are a starting point for a physical fitting. Check the forehead and temples for pressure and make sure the helmet does not slip when the strap is fastened. Include your usual glasses in the fitting. Worn interior pads may feel different from new ones; replacing them requires the correct size and attachment arrangement, not simply a thicker-looking alternative.
Spada's Clear Pinlock 30 insert page names both Orion and Orion 2 and identifies DKS166. This supports that particular shared insert application; it does not make all their visors, pads or mechanisms interchangeable. Check that the outer visor fitted to your helmet is prepared for the matching insert, and follow the insert instructions. Confirm what is included when buying a visor, as an outer shield and anti-fog lens are separate items.
An outer visor, inner sun visor, base-plate set, vent and breath guard each solve a different problem. Inspect the original component and its mountings before ordering. If the visor moves unevenly, identify whether the shield or its mechanism is worn before replacing parts. Keep the optical surfaces clean and use the manufacturer's care method for padding. Cosmetic or comfort spares cannot restore a helmet damaged in an impact.
Bring your helmet when identifying replacement parts, or visit our showroom with your usual glasses and riding jacket to compare the fit of a complete helmet. We can help separate the helmet, visor and interior choices.
