MT Streetfighter helmets have a distinctive urban shape built around a peak, internal visor and detachable face mask. The original Streetfighter SV offers a different ownership experience from a conventional full-face helmet, and its name should be kept separate from the later Streetfighter SV S when choosing parts.
MT's original Streetfighter SV specification describes a HIRP shell and a removable mask. Changing the configuration affects how exposed your face feels to the weather, but the appearance of a chin section is not proof of full-face impact protection. Check the approval label and instructions for your particular helmet before deciding whether its protection and permitted configuration suit your riding.
The original Streetfighter's internal screen has its own release mechanism. Clear, dark and coated examples illustrate different options, but matching the original fitting is the first requirement. MT's older catalogue lists the TR902 SV screen application, while the later Streetfighter SV S has separately identified accessories. Do not treat the extra S or a revised part suffix as cosmetic.
A peaked helmet can feel different as you turn your head or sit behind a motorcycle screen. During a fitting, check the opening around your eyes and that the lowered visor clears your nose and glasses. The micrometric strap still needs to be adjusted to your neck; simply clicking the buckle shut does not establish a secure fit.
The original model has removable washable comfort padding and ventilation through the shell. Keep the visor attachment points and mask connections clean, and follow the model instructions when removing them. If a component no longer locks positively, have the fitting checked rather than forcing it or improvising a fixing.
Bring your Streetfighter's model label and existing visor so we can help identify the correct generation. A fitting also gives you time to assess the peak, face opening and strap adjustment.
