Leatt Moto 8.5 helmet kits move to a composite shell while retaining the ventilated, goggle-based format of the Moto range. The stocked kits include Velocity 5.5 goggles, a peak extension and helmet bag, giving riders a complete head-and-eye package for off-road use.
Composite construction and included goggles
The shell is composite and is produced in three shell sizes. Inside, Leatt combines four-density impact foam with 360 Turbine technology. The Pro-Fit padset, washable X-Static liner and emergency-release cheek pads address fit and servicing, while double D-rings and a breakaway peak cover retention and peak release.
The included model is Velocity 5.5. Older generic wording sometimes adds the Iriz name, but Leatt's current specification for this kit identifies the standard Velocity 5.5 goggle, so lens colour and finish should be checked on the selected product.
Comparing 7.5, 8.5 and 9.5
- Moto 7.5 uses a polymer shell and includes Velocity 4.5 goggles.
- Moto 8.5 uses a composite shell and includes Velocity 5.5 goggles.
- Moto 9.5 uses a carbon matrix shell and includes Velocity 6.5 Iriz goggles.
Choosing your size
Measure around the widest part of your head, just above the eyebrows and ears, then use the size guide on the product page as a starting point. A new helmet should feel evenly close all around without a concentrated pressure point. It should not rotate freely when you move it by the chin bar or peak.
Why browse Leatt helmets at Moto Central?
Moto Central brings the available graphics and sizes together on one model page, making it easier to compare the exact kit rather than relying on a family name alone. You can also browse the wider Leatt helmet range, compare Leatt goggles and read our helmet sizing guide before choosing.
Customer questions
Are Velocity 5.5 goggles included?
Yes. They form part of the current Moto 8.5 kit.
Is the shell carbon fibre?
No. Moto 8.5 uses composite construction; the Moto 9.5 is the carbon option.
Is this suitable as a sealed road helmet?
No. It is an off-road helmet with an open eye port for goggles rather than a clear road shield.
