Icon Hypersport equipment takes a close-fitting, sports-oriented approach to riding gear. The family has included gloves and leather clothing across different generations, so matching the exact model matters more than assuming every Hypersport item shares one construction or specification.
The current Hypersport Short glove combines an AxSuede Laredo chassis with goatskin overlays in high-wear palm areas. Its floating knuckle assembly, articulated fingers and outward-facing finger seams are intended to allow movement around the controls. It is a short-cuff design, so check the overlap with your jacket rather than expecting the coverage of a long gauntlet.
Icon describes a TPU/polycarbonate knuckle structure with a D3O underlay and palm sliders. These features should sit in the intended locations when your hand closes. Try reaching the clutch and brake repeatedly: a secure wrist closure should not compensate for fingers that are too long or a palm that pulls tight. Touchscreen capability also varies with the device and fit.
Historical Hypersport 2 jackets and trousers use an Attack Fit and leather/textile construction, with model-specific armour and connecting zips. Those are useful examples of the family's sports focus, not specifications for the Short glove or every earlier Hypersport garment. Confirm generation, materials and matching zip compatibility before combining separate pieces.
Assess clothing while seated with your boots and gloves. Check movement at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, and ensure protective components stay positioned. A close sports cut should permit control movements without restrictive tension. Follow the exact care label for leather, synthetic panels and removable protectors; do not assume one treatment suits every part of a mixed-material item.
Visit our showroom with the riding kit you normally use. We can help compare fit, check how separate pieces work together and identify the right model before you choose.
