Icon Elsinore 2 boots combine vintage motocross styling with a tall, adjustable leather construction for road riders who want substantial coverage and a distinctive look. The useful comparison is how the shaft, fasteners and sole work with your trousers and riding position, rather than whether the styling matches a particular motorcycle.
The Elsinore 2 uses five adjustable straps alongside a side-entry zip. Set the straps to suit your calf and trouser arrangement, then use the zip for everyday access. Try both boots with your usual riding socks and check that the heel remains settled without crushing the forefoot. A tall boot needs room for the leg to bend as well as space for the toes.
Icon specifies a leather upper, reinforced shin area and internal D3O ankle inserts. The published Elsinore 2 certification is EN 13634:2017 with levels 2 2 2 1. Those details belong to this model, not automatically to an original Elsinore or another boot with similar buckles. Vintage off-road styling alone does not establish suitability for competition motocross.
The reinforced shifter area and supportive sole should be assessed on the bike, especially if your gear lever sits close to the footrest. Check ankle movement, access beneath the lever and whether trouser hems bunch at the top. The hi-rebound EVA insole is a comfort feature; the overall boot must still fit correctly before a long day.
Clean dirt from the straps and zip before operating them and follow the care guidance supplied with the boots. Allow damp footwear to dry naturally away from direct heat. Do not assume a leather upper provides a waterproof membrane. When replacing a boot or component, identify Elsinore 2 specifically and check the size system on the listing.
