DMD Vintage helmets are built around a simple open-face silhouette that leaves room for personal choices in eye protection and finish. The traditional shape is only one part of the decision: consider facial coverage, glasses, visor or goggle fit, and the precise version of the helmet before comparing designs.
DMD's Vintage Cream listing identifies a fibreglass shell, removable washable lining, visor mounting buttons and a double D-ring strap. It identifies that model as ECE 22.05. The newer Retro Cream has a separate manufacturer listing and ECE 22.06 specification, so avoid treating Vintage and Retro as identical names for parts or approval purposes.
The Vintage leaves the face open and has no fixed chin bar. A suitable visor provides a screen against the elements, but does not supply the same construction as a full-face helmet. Consider that distinction alongside the open view and exposed feel. Compare the other DMD helmet designs if you want a different level of facial coverage.
Try the intended visor or goggles on the actual helmet. Check nose clearance, the position of spectacle arms and whether a lifting shield moves without catching. A peak shades differently from a visor and does not replace eye protection. Select accessories by confirmed fitment, not just their retro appearance or the number of mounting studs.
The compact outline should not encourage a tighter size than is comfortable. Check consistent contact around the head with the strap fastened, and spend time looking for local pressure before choosing a finish. Retain the model and size information for replacement liners. Follow the supplied cleaning guidance and check that refitted comfort pads and accessory fasteners are seated correctly.
At Moto Central, try your preferred eye protection with the helmet and bring any existing helmet details when asking about a replacement liner.
