Caberg X-Trace helmets use a fixed full-face design with a peak and visor arrangement that can be configured for different journeys. For riders comparing adventure-style helmets, that fixed chin-bar format is an important distinction from Caberg’s peaked flip-up models.
Caberg describes the X-Trace with peak and clear visor together, with the peak removed, or with the peak retained and clear visor removed. Use the model instructions for each change and plan suitable eye protection for the chosen setup. Decide which configuration you actually need before buying additional components or comparing the helmet with a modular alternative.
Try the helmet in the posture you normally use, checking the view ahead and to each side. Consider whether your jacket collar or glasses affect comfort. The X-Trace’s adventure appearance does not tell you whether its internal shape suits your head. A careful try-on is more useful than selecting the same labelled size as a different model.
Caberg’s specification includes an internal sunshade and an outer visor prepared for a Pinlock lens. Confirm what is supplied with the chosen item. If you need an insert, match it to the actual visor and its reference. A replacement visor, insert and peak are separate purchases, even though all contribute to the helmet’s viewing and weather-management setup.
The X-Trace’s chin bar is fixed; a Tourmax X offers a different, flip-up arrangement. Compare the two formats around your own journeys and preferences. Existing X-Trace owners should retain the precise model and component details when ordering a peak or visor fitting, and avoid assuming a related Caberg helmet uses the same hardware.
