Caberg Uptown helmets are open-face models with a classic appearance and practical double-visor equipment. They are worth considering for riders who prefer a jet helmet on everyday journeys, with the fit, outer-visor coverage and comfort around glasses taking priority over the chosen finish.
Caberg describes the Uptown as an urban open-face helmet with an anti-scratch outer visor prepared for a Pinlock lens and a separate internal sunshade. Pinlock preparation and an included insert are different things, so check the individual listing. The visor does not provide a full-face helmet’s protective chin bar; decide whether the open-face format meets your needs.
The Uptown was offered with two outer shell sizes. During a fitting, assess the helmet on your own head rather than drawing conclusions from its profile in a photograph. Wear your normal glasses, lower the visor and operate the sunshade. Check that the glasses stay where you need them and that the helmet remains comfortable when you turn your head.
The removable, washable lining supports routine cleaning, and Caberg describes the model as prepared for communication equipment. Follow the helmet’s care instructions and check the particular kit before fitting it. If you commute regularly, consider how you will carry and store the helmet, and give a wet interior time to dry before the next journey.
Look carefully at what needs replacing: the clear outer visor, sunshade and anti-fog insert have separate roles. Confirm the Uptown fitment and product reference on each item. If your current helmet no longer fits securely or its history is uncertain, discuss a complete replacement rather than treating new padding as an automatic solution. Bring your glasses and existing model details to Moto Central. Check visor clearance and fit, or ask for help identifying the correct Uptown replacement component.
