Caberg Riviera V4 helmets offer a compact open-face format for scooter trips and everyday road riding. The long visor and internal sunshade are practical features to compare, but the most important decisions remain personal fit, desired facial coverage and correct identification of the V4 generation.
Caberg describes the Riviera V4 as a demi-jet model with two shell sizes, an outer visor and integrated sunshade. It suits riders looking for the open feel of a jet helmet. The visor is a screen in front of the face, not a structural chin bar, so consider whether this format matches your preference for coverage.
During a fitting, lower the outer visor and sunshade separately. Check their clearance with your nose and glasses, and practise finding the controls with your usual gloves while stationary. Think about the journeys you actually make: an early departure, a bright return trip and a wet day can place different demands on visibility and routine cleaning.
The V4 has a removable, washable lining. Follow its care instructions and allow it to dry before refitting. A compact helmet still needs an actual storage check: do not assume it fits a scooter compartment from the model description alone. Check that any lid closes freely without compressing the helmet or rubbing the visor.
Keep Riviera V4 distinct from Riviera V4X when comparing helmets and parts. Read the label and component reference rather than relying on the Riviera family name. A visor mechanism, outer visor and sun visor are separate items; buy the one required and check the stated model coverage before removing the existing component.
Bring your glasses and gloves to Moto Central to assess the Riviera V4 controls and fit. Confirm the model and desired component before ordering a spare.
