The original Caberg Horus is a touring and commuting flip-up helmet built around a panoramic outer visor. It predates Horus X, so the model name matters when comparing approval details or ordering spares. Look at the whole wearing experience: visor view, chin-section operation, glasses clearance and secure fit.
Caberg identifies the earlier Horus with ECE 22.05 P/J approval, a panoramic visor, Pinlock MaxVision and an integrated sun visor. Horus X is a separate later model. Use the label and manual for the helmet in front of you rather than applying a current Horus X specification to an older Horus.
A broad opening is useful only when the helmet sits correctly on your head. During a fitting, look forward and down towards where your instruments would be, then turn as if checking over your shoulder. The helmet should stay secure without needing to be tilted back to achieve the view you want.
The Horus chin section rotates independently of the outer visor. Follow the instructions for changing between the permitted open and closed configurations and check the locks before riding. Test the movement while wearing glasses, and keep any communication microphone clear of the closing mechanism rather than forcing the front past an obstruction.
For a visor or anti-fog insert, compare the exact model coverage and reference. For lining and mechanical parts, identify the component, size and position. A product explicitly naming both Horus and Horus X may be shared, but that wording needs to be present on the individual part, not inferred from a similar-looking helmet.
Visit Moto Central with your helmet details if you are maintaining an original Horus. If choosing a replacement, allow time to compare the visor view and flip-front operation while wearing your normal glasses and gloves.
