The original Caberg Flyon is an open-face helmet developed for touring, with a large outer visor rather than a fixed chin bar. Keep its identity separate from Flyon II when comparing helmets or ordering replacement shields. Its useful starting points are visor coverage, steady fit and comfort with your usual riding equipment.
Caberg introduced Flyon in 2020 as a fibreglass open-face model. The broad visor was central to its touring design and continued into the later Flyon II. That family resemblance should not blur the versions: the newer model brought specific changes, and its approval or equipment claims should not automatically be applied to an original Flyon.
A long visor can reduce direct wind on the face, but it does not turn a jet helmet into a full-face helmet. Consider exposure to rain and cold as part of your choice. During a fitting, check the visor position with glasses and any neckwear you use, without letting accessories alter the helmet fit.
When buying a shield, check the original Flyon model name, mounting compatibility, tint and insert requirements. A listing that names Flyon and Flyon II may cover a particular replacement; it does not make every part shared. For an anti-fog lens, use the specified visor and lens reference together rather than selecting by appearance.
Wear the helmet for more than a moment to assess the forehead and temple area. Fasten and adjust the strap, then turn your head to check for movement. If servicing an existing Flyon, distinguish worn comfort fabric from damage to the shell or impact liner. Replace parts only within the model instructions and confirmed compatibility.
For parts advice at Moto Central, bring the model label and a photograph of the visor reference or component. For a replacement helmet, compare fit afresh rather than assuming a newer Flyon will feel exactly the same.
