Caberg Droid helmets have a distinctive angular flip-up design, combining a movable chin bar with an internal sun visor. They are worth assessing as a complete mechanism as well as a helmet: fit, visor clearance and positive chin-bar locking all deserve attention before choosing a finish.
Caberg’s Droid documentation describes dual P/J approval and a selector that holds the chin bar in its fully raised position. Read the model instructions for the correct operating position and locking checks. When using it closed, make sure the chin bar has engaged fully on both sides. Opening the front changes the coverage of the face, even on a helmet approved for both configurations.
The Droid has a separate internal sun visor and a Pinlock Max Vision outer-visor system. Caberg describes two individually adjustable chin-bar vents and a frontal vent feeding the internal air channels. Try the controls with gloves and check that the sun visor clears your glasses. Replacement outer visors and inserts should be matched by the listed Droid reference, not just by a similar shape.
The manufacturer describes removable, washable lining and cheek pads shaped to accommodate glasses. Check the fit with the chin bar closed and the strap adjusted, then assess pressure around the temples and ears. The UK SHARP listing identifies the tested Droid as ECE 22.05 and gives it four stars; it is not an ECE 22.06 specification. For wear items, use our helmet padding and spares collections to check exact compatibility.
At Moto Central we can help check the fit, glasses clearance and control operation, then identify the correct Droid visor, insert or padding.
