How the Jet Flip works
Five-position ratchet
The visor has a five-position ratchet with an upward lift stop, allowing the blade to be raised or lowered rather than remaining fixed in one position.
Three adjustable studs
Three nickel-plated press studs provide adjustment, but the helmet's stud spacing and height still determine whether the visor sits correctly.
Curved polycarbonate blade
Bob Heath specifies an abrasion-resistant coated Lexan polycarbonate 3D-curved visor blade with an integral sun peak.
Glasses clearance
The design can be worn over glasses, although comfort depends on the helmet opening, eyewear frame and the selected visor size.
Choose the correct size
Bob Heath offers Small, Large and Extra Large Jet Flip sizes. Small is intended for smaller-circumference shells, Large for larger shells, and Extra Large for larger shells where the outer upper studs sit higher than the centre stud. The manufacturer's examples are useful guides, but stud positions can vary even among jet-style helmets.
Important certification update
Bob Heath states that Jet Flip visors made before May 2026 carry BS4110 certification. Visors made after May 2026 are manufactured to the intent of BS4110 but do not carry the certification required for public-road use. Check the item and packaging supplied for the relevant marking.
