Biltwell Lane Splitter helmets use an angular full-face shape with an integrated shield and shell ventilation. The pronounced chin section gives the model a different look from the rounded Gringo family, but the practical choice still comes down to fit, visibility and the correct generation of parts. Compare those details before selecting a graphic.
The R22.06 Lane Splitter has front, side and rear ventilation, plus a removable spoiler beneath the chin bar. Biltwell describes the spoiler as a way to reduce turbulence beneath the face. Its effect on your ride will depend on your position and motorcycle, so avoid treating it as a universal noise guarantee.
The manufacturer specifies a polycarbonate shield with anti-fog and anti-scratch treatments. Operate the hinge and closure while stationary, checking that the shield seats correctly. When replacing it, match the Lane Splitter generation and stated part compatibility rather than assuming that another Biltwell shield uses the same shape.
The newer Lane Splitter pairs an ABS shell with dual-density EPS and D-ring fastening. Its comfort liner and cheek pads can be removed and replaced. Keep comfort padding distinct from the impact-absorbing liner, and follow the manufacturer’s instructions when servicing the interior.
Try the helmet in your normal riding posture and check the view towards mirrors and over your shoulder. Bring glasses if you wear them. A fit that creates a pressure point after several minutes needs reconsidering; a favourite paint finish should not decide the size.
