Axor Jet and Retro Jet helmets suit riders drawn to an open-face profile and traditional styling. The open chin area is a defining difference from a full-face helmet, so consider face coverage and eye protection alongside the finish. A visor can shelter the eyes, but it does not provide a protective chin bar.
Axor’s Retro Jet family includes classic trim details and different shell and finish versions. The manufacturer’s model pages vary by market, so check the construction and approval on the exact UK product rather than carrying specifications across the whole family. A comfortable fit should feel secure around the head, with the strap correctly adjusted and the helmet resisting movement when you turn or nod.
Check what is supplied with the particular Jet and which visor attachments it uses. A replacement visor should match the helmet’s fittings and leave enough room for your nose and glasses. A smoked visor is a separate accessory choice, not an all-weather default: assess its restrictions and the light in which you will ride. You can compare alternatives in our helmet visor collection.
The Retro Jet manufacturer description includes leather trim and a removable, washable interior. Verify these details on the version you choose, especially when comparing earlier and newer examples. Wear the helmet for a fitting long enough to check the area around the ears and temples. Bring your usual glasses, and make sure the frame sits naturally rather than being held at an angle by the lining.
Our showroom team can help assess open-face fit and identify the right visor attachment. Compare with a full-face helmet if chin coverage is a priority.
