Icon Gloves

Icon motorcycle gloves include lightweight ventilated designs, leather road gloves, waterproof options and insulated models. The differences matter: palm material, cuff length, weather lining, knuckle construction and EN 13594 marking vary across the collection.

Choose around the conditions and controls first. A glove should hold securely at the wrist, cover the whole hand and let you operate the throttle, brake, clutch and switches without excess material bunching at the fingertips.

Choose by weather and construction

• Hot weather: mesh or perforated panels improve airflow, but compare palm construction, knuckle coverage and the product's certification.
• Wet weather: look for an explicitly stated waterproof insert. A solid-looking textile glove is not automatically waterproof.
• Cooler rides: check the amount of insulation as well as weather protection. A minimally insulated rain glove and a winter glove serve different conditions.
• Leather road use: consider perforation, reinforcement, finger shape and cuff coverage, then follow the model's leather-care guidance.

EN 13594 motorcycle glove certification

EN 13594 is the European standard for protective gloves for motorcycle riders. Product markings can include a performance level and, where applicable, the optional KP designation for tested knuckle protection. Use the exact marking supplied for the glove rather than assuming all Icon products share one result.

Icon's official information lists Overlord 3 to EN 13594:2015 Level 1, while other current and legacy models have their own stated test results. A visible hard or padded knuckle does not by itself confirm a KP marking.

Materials, palms and control feel

The collection contains genuine leather and synthetic constructions. Ax Laredo, used on several Icon gloves, is an engineered synthetic palm with a leather-like feel; it should not be described as leather. Mesh backhands increase airflow, while waterproof inserts add a separate barrier that can affect thickness and drying time.

Pre-curved fingers can reduce bunching, but sizing remains important. The fingertips should reach the end without being compressed, and the palm should not fold into a thick ridge when closing your hand around the grip.

Fit and cuff checks

• Use the model-specific hand measurement and size chart.
• Fasten the wrist retention and confirm the glove cannot pull off easily.
• Make a fist and operate every control without pressure points or restricted movement.
• Check that the cuff overlaps or fits beneath your jacket sleeve as intended.
• For touchscreen models, test the relevant fingertips before relying on the feature.

Care after riding

Follow the product's care instructions for its exact materials. Let wet gloves dry naturally away from direct heat, which can damage leather, adhesives and waterproof components. Check palms, seams, fastenings and knuckle areas regularly, and replace gloves after structural damage or a significant impact.
